I have everything fully upgraded and it feels like this is the bare minimum for this fight, so I feel sorry for anyone that tries not being maxed out.
A very slight buff to damage and/or damage reduction once you upgrade the armours (specially Grace of Auriel because of what you need to upgrade it) would make it more satisfying when you get it.
I'm loving the game btw!
For what its worth I'm 43 and managed to finish the game just fine. I won't lie though, this is one tough nut to crack, and this is coming from someone who plays a lot of SoulsBorne games.
To OP: Miria isn't that bad when compared to some other bosses. Like with games in the 90's, it is all about pattern recognition. She usually stays open after launching a big beam. You'll have to stay in the center of the room and avoid the beams by jumping or crouching then punish her with a few hits.
If she tries to initiate close combat just jump around until she stops moving. If she adopts a parrying stance (usually when she stops moving around the center of the screen and your hits cannot go through her guard) it is your cue to heal.
When she goes berserk and chains big beams just focus on avoiding them until she stops. You'll also have a short window to attack or heal just after the onslaught.
Hope this helps.
The quick heal became my savior, and after a certain point I was pretty much only using it to heal to avoid being vulnerable. That saved my life many, many times. It's definitely tough to get the hang of at first though, so I'm not tossing shade on anyone struggling, but I practiced it a ton in regular combat till the point it came natural, and that's about the only way I'd heal.
Played with keyboard/mouse just for the record, and used the mouse for all attack/defense stuff, and keys for movement/jumping worked well for me. It didn't feel awkward at all, or like a controller would have suited me better.
Third form of the final boss was the real deal nightmare for me. Just managed to finish it, but I've been ramming my head on the wall with it since last night, and it took me A LOT of tries. The mechanics largely changing, losing the quick heal, and every projectile on the planet flying your way definitely caused some problems.
