Shoot with Right Mouse Button
Recover Shield by holding the right mouse button

I played through it with my DualSense over Bluetooth. No issues for me.
Dusty New Year, if you can share your computer's specs, we'll find a way to help you out so you don't miss out on anything!
This was all on my Windows 10 PC, when I tried using the steam deck over proton GE the input was great but the graphics were borked and it crashed.
I have given up on the demo and uninstalled it.
Is this anywhere in game? When I launched the game in 2560x1080 resolution, the starting screen is cut off so I can't see what option I'm selecting, but the 'options' menu didn't seem to work. With the in game menu - when it doesn't crash the game, there's also no options setting to look at controls. On that end also when playing kb+m on dual monitors I had to switch to single monitor because the mouse can move off to the next screen.
There's really no reason why this game needs to be played with a controller. I'm annoyed but I can understand for a demo if the developer has only set one configuration for the in game tutorial, but you can't do that then never mind not having he option to re-bind controls but not even having a window to show what they are? My demo playtime ended because twice my teddy ran out of energy the first time stopping me from proceeding through a door, and I couldn't figure out what to do. I had the indication that I had to give teddy a huggy, but mashing all the keys nothing happened.
I see here that what you need to do is hold down right click. As things are with the demo I suspect very few k+m players are going to be able to figure that out in game.
Once I got past that screen, RT resumed worked exactly like it was supposed to on my controller from that point forward, but man... it's not a good look to leave a game-breaking bug like that unfixed for 3 years. At the very least you could change the on-screen text to say "Press RT (or Right Mouse Button)" so people have some clue what they're supposed to do if they run into this issue.
