Thanks to Lux, it is hinted that she does indeed make it back to the Player eventually.
So Lux somehow revives your love interest despite not granting it to Jace, which would've prevented the whole ordeal.
Then you get a cutscenes where you indeed cross paths with your love interest in a way that suggest that they lost their memory.
Then you receive the QR-Code, which ist probably a pre-recorded message on the train and it ends with a interference and a fragmented sentence. That suggests to me, that there is something wrong.
First I was happy to see her alive, but after that QR-Video I'm not so sure anymore.
Its been a while since i played. But from what I remember is the QR code is supposed to be like a message in a bottle. Probably recorded shortly before the end of the game. Almost like they knew what was going to happen. We do know Lux also talked to the others to some degree. I would say based on what Lux says at the beginning of the game, she is omniscient and knew what was going to happen. Or is just really good at planning things out. So she probably talked to the love interest before hand and prepared them in some way.
As for why Lux didnt revive Jace's love interest. Because your love interest isnt dead. I forget the evil god's name, but they basically fused with your love interest. To disguise themselves from the cannon. They had to be alive during this otherwise the original human signal masking the evil god would be gone. My interpretation of the ending was while evil god got banished back to whatever realm, your love interest got dragged along. And the process either unfused them, or because the evil god didnt need them anymore left them to perish in whatever realm. And the reason building the bond was so important besides just gaining powers through the bonds, was so that the person stuck in that other realm has the determination to come back. To not give up and find a way out. Lux hinted that you would be rewarded, it would just take time. And from what I remember about Yuna's message was she said to wait for her. She would be back. So its my impression, your love interest is stuck in some other realm and has to fight tooth and nail to get out. And you the player are their light at the end of the tunnel driving them forward. The game then confirms with that final cut scene to prove they made it. I dont remembr it ever implying they didnt remember you. but its been a while for me so I cant recall exactly.
So yeah, thats my take on it. Dev confirmed he is working on a second game. But not hing beyond that from what I know. So we can only hope this new game will be like, a continuation of the story. Or maybe even a game where the POV is your love interest trying to escape the other realm and get back to the player.
