Yeah, they should really point this out on the store page. Even if the prevailing male default means it is something to be expected, it would save people the time to hunt for confirmation.

Akina strip lets your cross dress as a female and is kinda like this game. In a older clunky kinda way

well... aside from the character in AkibaStrip still being a dude, that game is also notoriously focused on objectification. I have a hunch most people who hoped for a female option here would be looking for something more wholesome.

If we're talking alternatives, I would rather recommend Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, the *one* game of that franchise where you can actually make your own character instead of playing the series' tropey protag. Romance is, of course, a side element, but still sweet -- and the action is very solid.
