I absolutely love the way the day/night cycle is implemented. I like how the moon moved to give you an actual sense of time.
My thief got one hit by a goblin whelp, leading me to believe combat won't be a walk in the park...good stuff.
Just a couple things I'd love to see. A mini map would be great. I know where I have to go, but no Idea what direction to get there. Speaking of a map, a way to put notations on a minimap would be great, as the first house I ran into had a trainer. That'll be important to remember later.
I'll certainly play more over early access. Do you want logs of typos and what not?
Congrats on getting the game to EA! I've been following this on the RPG Codex and I'm so happy it's here.
I've been going back and forth with a mini-map no mini-map for a long time. Sounds like I need to start seriously looking at adding one.
Great to hear you like the beginning.
There is a compass in the upper right corner of the screen. Just shows N,S,E,W direction
- pressing the "ESC" key would close open windows (such as a doll, inventory, etc.)
- at the start, the player could choose several skills for each character.
- there would be separate, small maps of regions / locations. Nothing is visible on the big map. Points of interest with descriptions would be a great addition.
- too many battles at night. Quick save and qiuck load would be helpful.
I'll consider the ESC key suggestion
Choosing skills for each character - this is something that I have considered. I'll think about implementing this in a future update
Regions/locations - If you click on the realm name (Umbrea for example) this brings up an exploded view of the realm. If that is not what you meant, would you mind giving me some examples.
Points of interest - this is something else that I have considered in the past. I'll keep this in mind as well. Might implement with minimap
Quick Save/Load is on the radar - didn't get it finished before EA release
It seems to me that it is necessary to make two levels of zooming (three levels of maps). IMHO, an even more detailed map is needed, where the player could see buildings and, ideally, could see services in these buildings. Is it planned?
Are you planning the possibility of loading saved game in battle?
Are there any restrictions on a character's advancement in any skill, depending on the class or race (as in the M&M series)?
Will the quality of textures and models be improved?
Once in battle, you cannot save or load.
Class does determine the skills a character can learn and how far they can advance.
As for the quality of textures and models - this was the look I was striving for. I didn't want to go with realistic nor did I want to low-poly. I wanted something that looked decent (at least to me) and allowed your imagination to fill in the gaps like some of the older games did.
and by faster travel options, I am not necessarily meaning "teleport" ala skyrim, just things like horse travel, faster movement speed, things like that.
