Chest crusher

So you are supposed to be able to crush a basic chest into a gold chest when you have 18 but I have 50 basic chests and I am not able to turn them into gold chests, my depth is 550km pls help.

I'd also like to know. Getting swamped with basic chests is just reminding me that I'm very rarely getting golds and never getting ethereals.

what you are looking for is the chest compressor after 700km on earth

I don't think that's the correct depth. I am at 509 on earth and have not unlocked the other zones. For me, the "compress 16 to 1 gold" chest is grayed out even if I have 25 basic chests. The "Queue" tab says

Used Slots 0/{1}

I am at 702km. I have the same message. Anyone figured this out, yet?

Not a silly question but I suppose you crafted it in the structure tab and still get that error ?

I've unlocked the compressor early as well, but it won't work. You can glitch the game into letting you fight extra bosses by not moving and re-clicking on the boss location. The unlock is actually a reward for defeating the third (or fourth?) boss but the capacity is "{1}" not "1" when you do.
