Guaranteed scientist death or just extremely unlucky?
I've noticed that every excavation that has chance of dying that my scientists embrark always kills them. So far lost like dozen of them, some (like legendary lv70 scientist) dying multiple times. Doesn't matter if mission is 2% chance of 90%, the result is always death. Extremely annoying since sometimes both missions roll with chance to die. From the missions I saw that there are equips that reduce death chance, but is there any other source of them? The way it goes I will never will be able to get anything interesting from excavations.

With the release of the patch yesterday we can't 100% guarantee the resurrection of a scientist. Now that the hardcap is 80%, if you a have Thoth super miner you can keep 2 divine golden scythes and use Thoth's buff to make ressurection attempts. If you can unlock the 5 new relics slots now is a good time to stack divine Books of Success up to the hardcap to maximize both their survival and their chacnes to be ressurected.
It makes warping them riskier but still farily doable.

Yep, it's that mission that has a 2% death chance for a legendary on the left. I can't say anything about it since I don't specifically know how the math there works but it's suspiciously killed my high level legendaries multiple times to the point that I spend tickets when I get it to re-roll new death percentages.

I'm returning player from version like 0.10? I'm reading your words and they mean nothing to me, I have no relics that grant ressurection (surprisingly I couldn't get any since every death risk mission straight up kill every scientist I sent, since posting I lost another 4 scientists to 2% death rate missions, so something is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up). The only superminer I had is the one who boosts mining, but I have yet to see golden chest, not to mention ethereal, to upgrade or recruit another.

having a insane scientifist lvl 40 dying on a 2 % mission with two divine golden scythe is dumb !

Lost 2 out of 3 lvl 100 scientists on first try resurrect with 75% chance.. not sure if its worthwhile to keep/warp scientists at this point since success percentages has always been wonky in this game.. and... i don't want to lose a scientist i spend a month to reach lvl 100. At least let us resurrect after a failed sythe revive.. "Your sycthe failed to ravive your scientist at 80% chance would you like to use tickets instead?" would work.. i would still give up scientist part of the game probably but at least its something.
By the way who thought in a game you lose your scientist 10% of the time for a 1% failure rate mission dropping resurrect change from 100% to 80% is a good idea? For how quick they are to die its a certain death sentence.

I believe the devs decided that having immortal lvl 100 scientists with the reward return changes was overpowered so they changed it that they are unlikely to get that far unless someone really wants to spend the tickets on it.

It's just the new balancing.

But yeah, the math on the death percentages means I will never invest in scythe relics.

This new meca is just so bad , no one gonna paid for a lvl 100 warped scientist if they die all the time , since last patch all of my scientist keep dying on low mission , its insane

Yeah I know. I am losing two or three at a time in one series of missions on 3-5% fail rates. :)
They want you to buy tickets to revive them.
