Californium Bombardment 2 reactor level 2

I have a reactor level 2, I want to feed Californium Bombardment 2 but it is impossible. With the most basic rod I can't produce any energy when the CB2 is on the reactor, I don't understand why. Actually before I put the CB2 into the reactor I had more than enough energy stored to feed it, but somehow some energy got away, God knows where... Can someone please explain me this? Is there anyway to save the CB2 progress to not lose almost 1M energy for nothing?
