What does the metal detector do?

I got the metal detector from a chest but I have no idea what it does.

Mouse over your items in the relics list, it tells you what they do...

Blinks when a miner finds a chest so you dont have to scroll down. the detector is shown at the top near the sell ore

Lvl 1 blinks when you find a chest, lvl 2 will tell you with a dot on the slide bar to the left where the chest is.

Could you please tell me how to level up the metal detector? My metal detector is still LV1 for a long time.

You get metal detector level ups from chests, there are lots of rewards in chests so just keep collecting them

I've been collecting for two days ... cca 1000 chests ... 40 gold ... but no blueprint upgrade or metal detector ... only minerals , money , ... what is it ?

90% oi anything important in this game is random drops. The junk you can buy is the meaningless low level stuff
