Looking at the brochure gives you the address but it doesn't open up anything. I can't do anything with the cop's coffee, can't get the police report... is something broken? The game barely started and there's already nothing to do anymore.

I shouldn't say impossible, but three years after launch, the game is unlikely to be broken so severely.

You should be able to get the police report — if you check the guides section, I'm sure you can find the exact steps to progress :)

Try checking file integrity. click on the GEAR at the far right of the green PLAY button. Then select properties/installed files. then click on "Verify integrity of game files". any corrupt or missing files will be fixed. After it's done back out and then check again to see that there are no errors. This has helped me on a some games. Hopefully it will help you, as well.

Thanks! I thought I was being clever by pouring the coffee in the plant but even that isn't working. I'll try something else.

You are the right track with the coffee and the plant. That distracts Lenny and you can go into the back room.

Click on every item in your inventory to look at them yourself. Talk to everyone about all topics and all items.

If this is the problem area, hers some info that might help.

It works differently depending whether playing the original game or the Directors Cut version. I think it's like this. In the original, Kathy can go to the cell area, without messing with the coffee pot, and asks the bum to distract Lenny so she can look at the police files and search Lenny's desk. When Lenny goes into the cell area, Kathy looks at the files behind Lenny's desk and finds the report(GRANDPA). the she automatically gets the key to the evidence locker. When Lenny comes back, she goes into the cell area, uses the key from inventory on the locker to get the cassette and a file. then Kathy leaves.

In the Directors cut, Kathy empties the coffee pot into the plant and when the sheriff wants coffee there won't be any and Lenny will have to make some more and that's when Kathy can go to the cell area to look at the police files(GRANDPA). She reads a file on the desk there to find that the keys to the evidence locker are in Lenny's desk. Then she gets the bum to distract Lenny and look at Lenny's desk to get the key. She has to waste more coffee to distract Lenny so she can get back into the cell area. She uses the key out of inventory to op the locker to get the cassette player and a memo. then Lenny asks about a possible dinner date to which Kathy simply says NO and then she exits.

There are Walkthroughs available for both versions easily found with search engines. I'd recommend the Directory Cut version but I played both.

I hope the game can be finished. It's a good sassy game/story.
