Steam Deck + DLCs?
It seems as though the DLC won’t load on Steam Deck? I have the expansion pass and it says it’s installed on the Deck but won’t load? It loads with the DLC just fine on my PC, but the options to look at purchases DLC and apply DLC on the main menu are greyed out on my Deck.

Any solutions to this?

I've been having the exact same problem. I've put in an email to the xseed support but haven't heard back yet. I'm on a Linux Desktop.

Still no reply from XSEED. I don't think we're ever going to get support for PoOT DLC.

I got a reply from Xseed recently, stating that they have no intention as of right now, to make the game, let alone the dlc "Compatible" with Linux.

I know this isn't too helpful, but it's SOMEHOW possible since a guide I watched to get the game running on the Steam Deck had the DLC load for them. I'll comment again if I figure out what they did, but so far I don't really know. I did everything the guide did and the DLC didn't work for me.

Which DLCs are you all trying to run? Because if it is the added locations, you need to progress the game further and have some events happen.

I can go to the DLC areas and I only just purchased the game.

Any and all DLCs fail to load on the Steam Deck for most of us posting here... The options to enable them in the main menu are grayed out. You're able to switch Bachelor/Bachelorette outfits from the get go, but not on the Deck.

I can't even get the DLC to show up, the menu is greyed out and tells me that there is no DLC enabled, when I have it enabled, but when I disable them in steam and re-launch, it tells me that DLC has been removed. On Linux Desktop btw, not on a steam deck.

I spent some time yesterday trying to solve this. I haven't been able to fix it but looking at the decompiled code this is almost certainly a path issue. Linux paths are case sensitive, Windows are not.

The DLC is located in the /StreamingAssets/Windows/ folder, in the form of "aoc" files. Decompiled code shows that the class which handles the DLC expects capitalized "Aoc". I thought renaming the files will fix it but unfortunately no. I have never reverse engineered a game like this so I lack the ability to debug the functions to see how they work exactly.

Maybe someone with greater skills could take a look at it. Hopefully this should be fixable.

This is the first game I know, and I played a hundred plus on my Deck, that strictly fails at something like reading the DLC when the complete rest of the game simply works, thanks to Wine. There shouldn't be a separate issue.
This is so weird.

The community for this game unfortunately is so incredibly small that no one with knowledge of Linux and coding and modding looks at this. :/ I wish someone would know someone to take a look at it.

It doesn't run natively...

Hopefully it gets fixed, but it is easy to get working.

It can all be done with GUIs, no need to do any console stuff.

*Go to the desktop and open the Discovery store.
*Install Protontricks
*Open up Protontricks and select PoOT (Ignore the warning prompt)
*Select "Select the default Wine Prefix" & hit OK
*Select "Install a Windows DLL ot component" & hit OK
*Select the check boxes for the following;
d3dcompiler_43
d3dcompiler_47
vcrun2010
vcrun2012
vcrun2013
& hit OK
*After this you will get some 32bit/64bit warnings, just hit OK on those.
*Give it a little time and you will then have some install windows pop up (one at a time), just go through these like you would on windows. There will probably be a few more warning messages, but these were not an issue for me.

After all of this, you will be able to run the game. It looks like a bit of work, but isn't really that bad. Of course, if you still don't want to do all of this, then that is entirely fine. Hopefully someone will find this useful.

That's how you get it working on Steam Deck.
