Steam Deck Support?
Any chance this will get Steam Deck support? It currently only gets through the dev logos and crashes afterwards. Protonbdb has it as playable with some tinkering but it might be a bit too much tinkering than normal without some Linux experience.

It can all be done with GUIs, no need to do any console stuff.

*Go to the desktop and open the Discovery store.
*Install Protontricks
*Open up Protontricks and select PoOT (Ignore the warning prompt)
*Select "Select the default Wine Prefix" & hit OK
*Select "Install a Windows DLL ot component" & hit OK
*Select the check boxes for the following;
d3dcompiler_43
d3dcompiler_47
vcrun2010
vcrun2012
vcrun2013
& hit OK
*After this you will get some 32bit/64bit warnings, just hit OK on those.
*Give it a little time and you will then have some install windows pop up (one at a time), just go through these like you would on windows. There will probably be a few more warning messages, but these were not an issue for me.

After all of this, you will be able to run the game. It looks like a bit of work, but isn't really that bad. Of course, if you still don't want to do all of this, then that is entirely fine. Hopefully someone will find this useful.

------Unrelated edit:
I get 60 fps even when I set the TDP down to 4 watts.

Any idea how to get the DLCs to load?
Az Sep 16, 2022 @ 7:53pm
I had to manually download each of the VCRun items since the links in protontricks didn't work right. Got it running but no luck on the DLC. glad to know I'm not the only one with the DLC issue.

I believe it has something to do with the handling of the ".di" files used for the DLC. They're located in the root game folder under "StreamingAssets/Windows"... Pretty sure Linux doesn't have a way to handle .di files natively.

The fix is not too bad, if you follow MrCory's post in this thread, you can get the game working in less than 30 min. Despite the dlc's not working the game runs flawlessly, I've put like 35 hours on it without issues. Worth the tinker if you are up for it.

I'm going to buy the game after reading this tip, thank you!

I'm hoping this becomes verified soon

Hey Marvelous, please bring this on Steam Deck with the DLC, without needing the community to tinker that hard. You also made it happen with other Story of Seasons games - pls don't leave us hangin' dry!
IAmVianca Feb 21, 2024 @ 6:06pm
So, DLC is still unavailable with the Deck? What happens if you play between the desktop and the Deck with the DLC? Does it give any problems?
