Tips for trench mode?

I won my first engagement in trench mode but am having a difficult time winning the second. I just overwhelmed the first battle with 60+ french and an additional mix of surviving american units. I'm having a hard time replicating this on the second battle and am currently 60mins in.

The frenchies suck, I only deploy the AT squad of 2 (I really hope you have them) I supplement the 29th troopers in as the assault force and the the AT troops bazookas to cause havoc on their trench lines.

I usually have two lines of troops, the main 29th troops up front and the frenchies in the back, I'll send the frenchies up from line 2 and just before they get to line 3 (farther to the right of the map) I'll send my frontline up. basically I'm sending the 29th in first to tank some hits so that the bazookas are able to get the AT shots off. It works pretty well, I've lost 1 game out of probably 12 I've played

Send in mixed infantry and don't over stack trenches, the -5% to combat ability when units are over lapping is still in effect. At the start of the mission rush as many trenches as possible, usually up to trench 3. Frenchie with stenguns are good for pinning enemies, and that's about it, the 29th are the real killers. Rapid fire weapons can break morale, so if you don't want Germans retreating quicky be careful about them, but it is also useful for disrupting their attacks on your trench. Once you control trench 5, don't be afraid to sit on it and farm kills until you kill more Germans than the Germans killed your guys, that why you get more XP and more options to choose new units. Flamers are the real killers, but you probably already know that. Good luck.

I have found 4x 1st div springfield 2LP being absolutely insane when compared with smg and machinegunners. They will swarm any trench you can get 12 men with 6 lp that wont run after being shot at. They hate explosions so be careful about those.
