I noticed that half the buttons were not responding correctly in the main menu. Using the d-pad (Xbox One Series X controller) only up and down worked, but not left and right. This was noticeable when trying to change graphic settings.
During some of the tutorial prompts such as the Rage mechanic, I had to use my Keyboard and press Esc to continue playing.
Right now my Steam Input setting was set to "Default" when adjusting it from the Steam Library menu. I'm going to try forcing it to enable Steam Input and see what happens.\
Edit: Okay just did some testing right now.
Disabling Steam Input:
- Vibration works
- Pressing any button at the very beginning of main menu works.
- Still have to use the Left Thumbstick to adjust graphic settings left and right (moving from low to high quality for example).
- Able to continue from specific tutorial prompts such as the "Life may regenerate depending on difficulty". Not sure if mashing buttons worked to skip or if pressing B skipped it. There was no prompt on what to use to continue.
Enabling Steam Input:
- No vibration
- Had to press a key to get to main menu.
- Still have to use the Left Thumbstick to adjust graphic settings left and right (moving from low to high quality for example).
- Had to use keyboard to skip tutorial prompts that didn't have a button prompt such as the health regeneration one or the Rage mechanic.
on the first launch i had to reset controller's bindings to defaults, cause some actions were just not assigned. maybe this will fix it for you?
Same here, had to Alt+F4 just to exit that menu and start again. Cannot assign any controls to the controller.
Edit:
Okay I figured it out, had to unplug all other devices that can be recognised as a controller, such as my Razer Tartarus Pro, controller still didn't work until I went into settings and selected, reset to default. Worked after that.
