As for working on butterflies with time requirements, I would recommend looking into time stopping mechanisms. There's a few different options and with incense I think you can freeze time for up to like 8 or so minutes before you have to refill anything, though that option can significantly limit where you're able to stand. There's also no limit on hotels, so if you really want them counting down faster you can just place multiple, they don't have the same range restriction bee hotels do.
I pop by there once, then I'm gone several days (I breed my bees for all times of the day activity and all weather and climate) when I return, there's maybe one butterfly egg waiting for me. I am well aware it's a simple thing to add those hotels to where I'm busy, but it's still a bug (of sorts).
I also noticed that when I quit and save my game, the bees that are still active will NOT recognize the modifiers of flowers when I load the game again. Which led to a disappointing first harvest of honey and bee products on my game when it should've been way more.
