How to Start Building the Pyramid?

I can't figure out how to start work on the pyramid. There doesn't seem to be any structure I can select or interact with. With or without a worker selected. I have rocks, I have stone. My build menus don't show anything pyramid related and I've built everything I can. What am I missing here? I've only been able to find two LetsPlays of the game that build the pyramid and in both of them they go from being confused and unable to build as well, a cut, and then they've started work on it without mentioning anything.

did you find the alien?

from your town center, head to north west. then you will find incomplete structure (the pyramid), continue head north west then you will find alien.

I had the exact same issue, so if anyone figures it out please write it in the comments.
Also I built the mine right next to the Pyramid, and away from it in separate saves. Both times no interaction would appear. Thank you for trying to solve it but I think this is simply a bug. Regardless, this is a spectacular game and I'm happy I was able to play it.

Nevermind, you can only start building it if you have recruited the alien first. I hope that fixes your problem, Scipion.
