How to stop game from pausing when alt tabbed?

The game pauses as it detects the application window is out of focus, this is a Unity feature. It means any time you alt-tab the game will pause.

I know, but i would have liked an option to keep it from pausing, or a way to stop the cursor from confining to the screen

Is there a way for you to change this characteristic? It's pretty annoying that a game in which you stand around for 2 minutes at a time can't handle being alt tabbed for that time.
