Washing machine and dryer?

Only played 2 days in game, but this is bugging me already.

IRL, my laundry mat takes about 40 minutes to finish a load of washing, then the dryer takes about 20 minutes. So an hour.

But in the game the same process takes 5 hours!!! The clock hits 6 pm, don't do any more.
Just play games and relax. But that's not the point, to do washing and have a load, it would be quicker to it by your own hands, instead of these ancient machines.

My wife would kill me if I forgot to turn the washing machine on, on weekends. Especially if it took 5 hours.

So solution for game play: Turn down washing machines to 2 hours and dryers to 1 hour.
3 hours in total for each load would be great. If you want to play arcade, there's not enough time to achieve anything in 5 hours anyways.

I think it is designed to allow you to get on with the "actual" game and work on your arcade and fulfilling the goals within the games there to help boost the popularity and make the arcade a success. I mean if you want to do nothing but play a Laundry Simulator then hats off to ya bud, I mean it is there, and in which case maybe the dev can make it so you can "upgrade" to newer machines. But for me having a little "down time" to get on with the games is just right, not that I have been doing the laundry recently anyway as I am generating so much income I don't know what to do with it anymore.. there doesn't seem to be any real "cash sinks" early in the game, and progressing to the next step seems to be taking forever...

The timing is definitely unrealistic, but it's just a game mechanic, and you won't be running the laundry long enough for it to matter or bother you for too long. Once you start running the arcade in earnest there is no reason to continue with laundry at all.
