What do you guys like about the game?
Not coming here with any ill will, I'm just curious. So far the gameplay is fine, but nothing I haven't seen before. The graphics are... hard to look at, and the audio sounds very muffled, but I expected that going in. So far, the most I can say is that the game is pretty funny at times.

So what is it? I just would like to know if there will be a payoff for looking at these graphics for some more hours.

its creative.
yes its not for everyone, its not easy to pick up.
but i am bad at fps and was able to get better at shooting movement and they way to approach the levels.
i finished every level.

example for one creative strat is to shoot a grenade in a big leverl, shot a grenade with the launcher pretty far, hook onto it, and jump, letting you shortcut huge parts of the level.
if you saw something like this before okay, i did not.

afterr few hours the graphics dont bother me anymore and i started to enjoy it, its simple and shows what is needed.

the most important thing for me is, it does not handhold me like i never played a game before, and it rewards putting time into it and learning the mechanics.

This is probably my favorite first person shooter. I don't know if you've ever played Deus Ex or Quake, but Cruelty Squad has taken a lot of inspiration from the both of them; to be exact, it has similar mission, equipment, and control concepts to Deus Ex, while also being similar to Quake's fast pace and physics.
Completing missions is very open-ended in that you can take a variety of paths and use a variety of equipment and weapons to complete them. There's no "right" way to do it. You're able to complete levels very stealthily and also very loudly, and the more stuff you unlock, the more options you have. Creativity is rewarded. Exploration is also rewarded as there are a lot of hidden areas that often have the aforementioned unlocks. It's also a pretty difficult game sometimes, which I appreciate, and there are plenty of ways to make the game more difficult if you feel like you aren't being challenged enough (or easier, if you use the right equipment).
And on top of everything else, there's the whole world, aesthetic. and attitude that brings it all together. There's a good amount of depth to the world, if you bother looking for it, and it really makes you feel like you're a part of it. Seems like some people don't appreciate the graphics, though I think they're pretty great. Might come down to personal taste. Don't listen to people who say ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like "it's so bad it's good", the reality is that it's just good.
Also, play Quake and Deus Ex, they're great too. You might actually appreciate this game more if you played them first.

It feels like an actual human being made the game, which is shockingly rare nowadays.

Imma just drop this quick, basically the game has a lot of replay value and secret, not to mention this is not your generic shooter, there is a bit of learning curves and shortcut, and it's very addictive to earn money

I appreciate the effort, lets put it like that. The dev had some balls to make the game look and play the way it does. It feels... like some form of underground art. Raw and ugly but, at the same time, somewhat sincere.

In a gaming culture where every game is literally begging me to play it, where everything is being made palatable to everyone, where every vision is watered down, every setting tamed, every mechanic smoothed.. it's refreshing to engage with a game that actively pushes back, that seems to not want to be played, that guards it's secrets jealously, that assaults your senses; that defies immediate understanding.

I found this joy when I realised there was so much more deeper things going on, especially with the weapons and secrets. I never considered myself a completionist but this game almost taunted me with it, it was weird and it just called to me to discover it.

realizing the flamethrower was more a healing beam then a weapon by torching bystanders and eating them for a lot of health, how busted you can make yourself by augmenting and how repulsed the peolpe where by you. it all just clicked.

I really wish there was more. larger actual functioning looking levels that you can explorer

The level design looks like it would be bad, but it's actually great. My favorite thing about the game is the level design and the music. He's created a weird world that seems like it could exist in some crazy mutated parallel universe. A lot like Zeno Clash, if you've played it. When I first loaded it and played it I was tempted to refund it, but once I got to the second level I started to get hooked. It's one of my favorite games now
