Armor doing anything?

I've experimented with armor several times in this game and still have no idea how it works, if at all. Even wearing the graphine plates that grant 50% armor pistol shots still do the same damage to me, a weapon that has no armor piercing. So, have any of you found what it changes?

Armor is worthless, use shi.tman suit.

Armor is worthless, ESPECIALLY when playing on Punishment Mode (you take aprox. double damage)

Use stealth instead (Military Camo / Invisibility Cloak) and don't get shot at

I know its worthless. I'm asking why, sorta, what's the point then? Shouldn't it be buffed?

It should be, considering the speed / visual effects of wearing heavy armour. I have a feeling through it's the dev's way of saying you shouldn't be relying on armour and instead tactics and movement.

I believe it's a bug. IIRC back in EA it was possible to survive direct fire from SMG for 4-5 seconds on DIvine Light with the Biosuit.
