Early game is super hard. What should i do?
I play on normal. I'm in chapter 4. I have currently exactly 0 money. I can't buy healing items or meals. I'm constantly at about 10% HP bar. I don't get money from missions, fights or side quests. The only way to fill my health bar is dying and getting in continue. So how is one supposed to play this game? What am i missing?

Running dropkick is insanely overpowered in this game, you can pretty much beat everyone by just running and holding the heavy attack button.

I forgot if it has to be purchased or not, but once you do, its game over for everyone.

Thanks but i have neither health nor cash. Enemies don’t drop either. It’s unplayable.

Is this your first Yakuza game in this engine or did you play through Kiwami 2 before it?

Did you upgrade your stats using the colored orbs? You can get them also from advancing the main story

I played all up to now. 6 is the first where missions and fights don’t drop cash or items. At least in this pc Version I’m playing. I took 2 continues to restore my health and powered into chapter 5. There I still didn’t get anything from enemies defeated and missions cleared. However, the first mission of clan maker gave me some much needed cash. So after chapter 4 it gets better I guess.

I guess it's because we're kind of addicted to mahjong but we're rolling in cash. Honestly I would say the game feels too easy, but we're still mucking about in chapter 2 doing extra content so I don't know, maybe it gets harder.

Have you been upgrading your stats? If you're into mahjong or think you could learn, once you have a bit of cash, do that. Save-scum at the easy or medium tables in Lullaby. The hard table in Modern is bugged, so do not play it unless you're going for the completion point (requires one win at that table). The medium table in Modern is fine, though.

Then you can head over to the Rizap gym and literally purchase XP items at the counter, in addition to items that not only grant you XP but empty your stomach so that you can go to restaurants (another very good source of XP).

Also try looking for keys and safes. The safes are marked on your map and the keys are labelled in the completion list as well as never very far from their safes. Some of that stuff is really good.

There's a skill in the Other Skills section called Fortune. We've upgraded that a bit and I make nearly ¥100K in some of my street fights. Also, we've been putting points into stuff like digestion so that I can eat a lot at restaurants, and Kiryu is basically unstoppable for all the XP and cash he has.

Some random punks in Hiroshima gave me hundreds of thouthands of money, enough to buy food and healing items. Also items in this game are simply overpowered, take your trusty bike and hit enemies with it to one tap almost anyone.

Thank you for the good advice. I’ll try to do some of that. I’m just confused how the game gives you nothing. In chapter 4 I was at the point where I got no heals and no money whatever I did. Usually I would stock up on health items or go to the safe room to heal. But getting no money or items throughout chapter 2-4 for playing the game or making fights (which is the only stuff you can do) meant I was bleeding out. And I don’t know if this is how it’s supposed to be or a bug.

Kind of sounds like a bug to me, but then again, my perspective is having spent a lot of time doing the side content. It's at the point where we need to sell healing items regularly to make room for the ones we get from street fights, despite it not being an extremely frequent occurrence.

By the way, after winning the Battle Royale at Modern Mahjong, we got ¥1 million (¥500K at Lullaby), so mahjong definitely pays off. Once you have cash, you can make more in probably several ways but that's one of them, and then when you're comfortable you can stock up on health from shops. Remember that in addition to staminans and toughnesses you can buy food like sandwiches, or medicines at the gym.

If you don't have weapons in the floor, another good tactic for crowd control is grabbing and throwing the enemy. Kiryu will spin the unlucky enemy (hitting anything in the trajectory) before launching him.
