Stuck on "It runs in the family"

So, I started this quest, got the key from the tattoo parlor , entered Room 208 , and did the following things in there:
- Found the corpse of Stan.
- Diverted power to the crane and lowered him.
- Diverted power to the computer and read everything there (except the password-protected mail).
- Looked through all the containers inside and outside the apartment.
- Found and analyzed the drugs in cabinet.
- Looked at the weird thing on Stan's neck, marked with the letters HNOC.
However, at this point I'm stuck, I cannot interact with anything else. The journal says to "Remove the cable from the victim's neck" , and while I can look at it, I cannot do anything else. In electro view, I can see Stan's neural implant , but I can't interact with it, because the previously mentioned thing blocks the way. While I could theoretically try brute forcing the password for the 'Goodbye, Dad' e-mail , it is still thousands of possible combinations (even when narrowing it down using the 'Anna's birthday' hint, and that would take a lot of time.
At this point, I'm completely stumped, and have no idea how to continue. Any help would be welcome and appreciated.

How did you managed to get the crane down? What is the switch combo and more importantly, where is the control panel to get it down? Thanks in advance mate

From the three switches, turn the left (light) and right (crane) ones on. Leave the middle off, beacuse using all three will overload the system, and turn all three down.
In the room with the crane, face the door leading to the previous room. The switch will be there, just right of the door. You can see it in electro view, once you power it.

You're welcome! But how do you interact with the combination lock?

You just click on the letters to rotate each one until you got his daughter's name.
Then you can connect to his implant to find out her bday to read her mail. (no need to remember its stored in the quest log)
Then you can decide if you wanna reply her with a nice or true story about her dad.

I replied with the truth and left the room, the quest showed up as completed but stayed in my quest log till the end of the game -_-

I was pondering forever how to move the combination, no luck, clicked like crazy. I searched for a solution and came to this thread.

It didn't make sense that some where able to move the keylock, so a reloaded a save file

that fixed it, for some reason. Now I get prompted to move the lock combination

it was a bug, if you get this, reload a save, that fixed it for me

Thank you for the tips. Based on the suggestions, I reloaded a save (at the attic, which was my only later save available for free roaming), went back to the room, and... the crane was reset to the upper postition. But since I broke the crane previously, I cannot lower the body any more, so still stuck, but for a different reason now.
I might try loading an earlier save next time, but then I'll have to do the whole tattoo parlor part again.

This quest bugged out on me in the same place - I couldn't turn the combination lock. Reloading the latest autosave seemed to fix it.

is there a special trick to leave the room? I finished the quest (without having it in my questlog, still did all I can do in this room) and now the door is still locked and I can't leave?
