EDIT: To be constructive, this is what I would do after I win the lottery and buy out the devs...
I'd make the Casino Manager more interactive. So you'd visit the CM instead of running all over town. The CM would give you three choices:
Hey, Boss, the tables are running okay, but I've got a few deadbeats. How do you want to deal with them?
1) Don't squeeze too hard. I have a reputation in this town. (RESULT: fewer earnings, but also fewer grudges being held by the deadbeats and their families)
2) Let's break some kneecaps! (RESULT: more earnings, but your reputation suffers.)
3) Show me where they live, and I'll give them my personal treatment (RESULT: game defaults to how we collect debts now, by placing markers all over town, and I have to check them manually)
There could even be a fourth choice: Show me who you think we can squeeze for more than just money. The result would be up to three promising deadbeats who you could bankroll to try for the next tier of reward.
The efficiency of the CM and their ability to collect money versus grudges would be related directly to their rating and experience as a CM in the first place. So, a new CM wouldn't be as good at providing income from deadbeats as an experienced CM.
Choose the option where you get business opportunities and get as much out of it as you can for the lowest possible cost, before shutting down the gambling operations that create debtors. I know this isnt ideal, but it makes a lot more sense than being forced to micro manage the whole thing
This would require conditional configuration of the automation. Obviously, do nothing if you have no active debtors. If debtor = true, then move to debtor and issue ultimatums.
Nested if statements, basically.
☝️ This. Especially in mid to late game, when building costs become astronomical. “Business opportunities” usually shows up on the first round of collection efforts.
Debt collection can get tedious. I don’t mind it as much because it is pretty lucrative.
