How long?How's the replayability?
Currently playing the tutorial but I'm curious how long is the average playthrough?And how's the replayability?Any randomized/dynamic elements?

given that you can keep playing after the 'end date' id say the length is pretty much up to you. I think its a 13 year game to the end date, 1 turn is 1 week so depending how much you do in a turn it could last a good while

Replay ability is definitely there and like sunder said, length depends on your own pace. (Just like other turn based strategy games)
As for randomized/dynamic elements, I'm not aware of any, aside from starting location and anything else that could result from the npcs' actions.

Roughly 660 turns until the Legacy Goals (victory conditions) kick in on January 1 1933, but you can continue playing past that if you wish.

The reviewer goes on to write that the game does have many ways to boost replayability.

That's right, city details are procedurally generated from general layout, and then the families and layouts get simulated, and so in each play-through the situation changes drastically from one to the next.

And we're planning on more in this department, but can't announce what just yet :)

Edge Scrolling is OK with me as long as there is an option to turn it off.

Besides starting location, rival outfits, businesses and hoodlums should all be randomised by seed. Not sure about ethnicity locations though.

Thanks, just to understand it right. The base map is still always the same then, correct ? So with a different seed you won't get a different map ? For example the river is always in the same location or do you have an endless amount of maps ?

Hmm i tested out two different seeds on the same chicago map. Even the street layout are different. The landmarks are in the same locations with slight variation though? Like railway tracks are a bit wider or lengthier but the rivers are mostly the same.
