Whiskey barrels
Started a game in Chicago and base was producing labels. Was most tempted to restart but continued playing. When a hooligan gave me whiskey barrels as loot and skill to build the botteling operation came soon after thought would give it a try. Problem of course was that could not buy whiskey barrels anywhere. I have a 5 man hit squad hunting entire map for enemies to kill with the hope to loot more barrels. But why must it be limited like that? Why can we not buy the wiskey barrels anywhere?

you mean steel barrels? or something else

generally it's just cus bad seed. Use your fronts' favor option for scoping out new businesses selling construction materials and containers. The game knows you need these barrels, and if they exist on your map, they'll be scoped out

That failing tho, I'd stop wasting ya time and frustrating yaself and just start a new game lol

The games procedurally generated, so sometimes you're just missing something. This makes you need to be aware of what's locally available to you BEFORE you need it. It is an economic game first and crime strategy game second after all

Decide what to build, what to sell based upon what you know is readily available. Don't commit to building something if you don't know already you can supply it with ease

the reason why you can't buy everything everywhere and it's restrictive I think is to add difficulty to the game and force you to do different things every run, but that's speculative on my part 🤷‍♂️ but this game wouldn't be super repayable if you could always get everything maxed out by the end of Prohibition

Also, when you need something, you'll get missions that will reward you with that something. I.E. you wanna make shine cus you got lots of buyers around but no neutral alcohol, the game will give you oppurtunity to trade a bunch of bottles for a bunch of neutral alcohol with someone. But to tell the game you want it, you have to build the operation, so kinda contradicts what i said about not building until you know what you need is available, BUT makes it so your missions should be offering you these barrels since you've built the op.

So whenever you're stuck just grind missions and that will probably solve the problem in and of itself. Reading the dialogue can give you idea of what mission reward will be before you do the mission

Steel barrels you can buy. I count 8 that are selling them. The botteling operation use 1 whiskey/brandy/rum/vodka barrels, 100 bottels, 20 labels and grant you 100 bottled whiskey/brandy/rum/vodka. It is supposed to be probation period and would have been illegal to sell barrels with alcohol. But still I feel sorry for the competion that I am out hunting them just to get my hands on loot.

🤣🤣 gaddamn lol poor fellas. can't help you I haven't got that deep into tiered booze yet. But I'd imagine whiskey barrels you need to make yourself with a different building

the booze barrels arent resources to buy you have to produce them yourself. it unlocks after t3 booze (Champagne, aged whiskey etc.) it counts as t4 booze. you can use these as ressources for your bottling operations or sell them to the Longshoremen buildings which is a Milestone out of the 12 you have.

Open up a route to the depot and you'll get the chance to buy into their operation linked to the train station, I think 2-2.5k is the buy in. Once this is done + you've bribed the local fuzz, the depot will do business with you. There are two periods where booze operations can be run. May to August and September to December. Early on in the game, from May to August, you pay in a set amount - I believe $500 and you'll get a set amount of T1 or T2 booze delivered to a front of your choice. When that season finishes and you're into September to December, you open up similar missions whereby you can sell T1 and T2 booze directly to the train station. It is possible to rock up early game with $2000 - $3000 and buy 4 or 6 lots of booze deliveries on the bounce. Its a quick cheap way to get a lot of booze very cheap for you them to distribute around your neighbourhood, This can be hammered week in week out. Sell, collect the cash, go back, rinse/repeat. When September to December comes, these cheap sources of T1 and T1 booze runs will stop - to be replaced with an option to provide them with $1500 a pop and straight away, you can choose to receive Barrels of Whiskey ( 3 barrels ), Brandy ( 5 barrels ) or 6 Vodka ( barrels ) or Rum ( 6 barrels ) the base resale price of these that can be sold to a longshore building is whiskey 2k each + 20% after bartering, 800 per barrel of Rum + 20% after bartering, Vodka x6 - 1000 each or +20% after bartering and Brandy x5 - 1200 + 20% bartering. The longshore building and the depot can be opened up via a little exploration and some strategic favours called in from linked contacts. Rum and Brandy sales by the barrel can be opened up quite quickly ( with the 20% extra ) but will take a few trades to increase the Vodka and Whiskey extra prices. Theoretically, you could turn up to the depot and buy 9-12k worth of barrels and sell straight back to the longshore building for a massive profit. But you can also build up your supplies for later use ( bottling plants and specialized whiskey/rum/brandy/vodka making ). You'll never hunt for another barrel of spirits again. You have until December and the the depot goes so quiet, all you can do is buy some guns. On your second year of using the depot and May comes around again, this time the depot will ask you to supply booze on a larger scale - like 1.5x an operations output. You can pick what you sell on to them, sell them homemade beer if you have an excess or sparkling cider as they have less of an impact on keeping your speakeasies running. When May comes again, you're back to buying barrelled spirits at $1500 a pop. You can also sell approx 16 units of all 4 types to the lomgshore before they won't buy any more for a few weeks. You'll never ever need to build whiskey/rum/Brandy/Vodka stills or source barrels for you niche' spirits like aged whiskey/spiced rum. Hope this helps.

Whiskey Barrels are T4 product. you have to produce them if you want more. You can either sell them to Longshoreman Union Halls, or use them in the bottling plant to make bottled whiskey.
