Can't click on town in new Act, stuck at beginning

I beat the first boss yesterday, saved and quit, and today when I resume I cannot for the life of me figure out how to enter town. I see the map for Act 1, and nothing I click on works, including double click, right click, etc.

I can click on Map Legend, Tome of Knowledge, that all works. When I hover on map, I see the name of the spot, the potential paths. What I can't do is go to town to start the act.

p.s. I started a run on another save slot, and I noticed that on the first map in the new game, the selection tile (grey pentagram w/ blue inside) next to the town has on it what looks like a brown rock with 3 gold discs near the bottom. My Act 1 where I can't go to town just has an empty selection tile with no rock on it. What does this mean? Thanks sorry if this is a noob question

So I had this exact problem and just figured it out, super embarrassing tbh. I had to click the map transition way over on the far right of the map cause I was till in act 1 xD I realize this is a few months later but just in case anyone has the same problem make sure you chose which portal to go into :)
