Also, paying 3 overcharge to see what happened did indeed seem to make the card repeat 3 times.
Repeat UP TO X means it casts once. And you can spend up to X mana to repeat the effect.
If it uses the Overcharge mechanic then it should say so. Or at least have something to say to the effect that it actually costs X energy rather than a set number. As it is, such wording is incredible deceptive because nothing on the card implies that you need to spend additional energy on it.
They already have Overcharge for spending more energy on something, so why not just label them with 'OC: Repeat 1'?
Its even more confusing when enemies have the exact same card but theirs automatically hits for the maximum number of times.
Overcharge and Repeat up to x are not the same thing.
Overcharge does an effect. And you can overcharge mana to get an addition effect.
Repeat up to X. You get the effect. And you repeat the same effect up to X based on the mana spent.
Also you can right click the card and the tooltip explains this.
Alternatively, fold Overcharge and Up to X into one (repeat cards would simply be: "OC: repeat 1") and do the same with Chain and Jump. (Chain is simply Jump with a negative modifier). This would clean up the amount of different-yet-similar abilities.
