How does 2-player Co-Op Work?
Tried to find some YT videos or other discussions, not much to be found. Interested in the game either for solo OR 2-pl co-op (only have one buddy who'd want to play - we both love Monster Train). But not sure how it works? Do we each just play 2 of the 4? Alternating? Is it fairly obvious/easy in game to figure out?

Bonus question: is it fun Solo too?
thanks!

You can assign the heroes to whoever you want - so you could each play two characters (and have control of them during combat, and which results they get after combat, etc.) or have 1 person control 3 and the other control 1. Monetary rewards are split by character, so if you each control 2 characters you'll each get half as much gold as you would when you play solo - but you'll only need to use that gold to manage 2 characters instead of 4. For picking where to go or which event choice to make, if the players disagree there's a random resolution mechanic that will roughly mean that each character has an even chance of making their player's choice be the one selected.

Personally I think the game is more fun multiplayer due to being less to need to think about but it's fun solo.

I think this game is super fun as solo or multiplayer. I play with my husband and/or friends and have a blast. There was a new update that has changed how you get started in multiplayer, but it is really fun. The thing to remember that is different with this deckbuilder is that you get rewards for how far you get each time. So even if the monsters are totally beating you down, don't worry, you will be able to get better rewards and you will continue to progress and improve your characters.

Can I ask a bit more here? Does 'solo' play affect Multiplayer? Say I want to play all the time, so I solo a lot, but my buddy only plays MP when I'm on...does my solo progression affect our MP progression? (The answer I'm hoping for is "no", I want the solo experience to be solo, and the MP to be MP. He won't enjoy it if I'm progressing way ahead and then 'carry' him along...

Thanks!

Solo Meta Progression will be useable in Multiplayer and Vice Versa, You do have 5+ slots for "Profiles" so you can keep on the same level of progression with your buddy while having a separate solo file but I will say that game knowledge is pretty big so you might be spoiling your future runs with them by playing solo. :)

I did most of the game in a duo and it was a blast as we both controlled two characters.

Woot! Thanks...profiles is perfect, VRising is the same, I have my solo, we have our MP profiles.

And as for your one concern, no worries - I'm good at playing 'dumb'. 😜

Thanks again!
