Cheats/Unlocks

So unlocking the characters is annoying as ♥♥♥♥. How do I bypass that? And PLEASE if you're going to comment "just play the game," ♥♥♥♥ off. I'm asking whether there's a nice and proper savefile editor.

You can just copy a friends save file and have everyone max level if you don't feel like playing the game

For me, unlocking characters was a fun experience. I was still unlocking cards, items, earning Perk points and learning the heroes that I have already unlocked. It did not feel bothersome at all to unlock new heroes while simultaneously learning ones that I have unlocked. Best way would be for you to ask someone to shave a save file, so you can also skip the Rank grind.

I was about to go off but then I actually read your responses. Thank you, but I don't have friends who play roguelike card builders. Is there really no savegame editor?

Run some LFG's, looking for people to help unlock.
Runs go much faster in groups than solo just because you only have to do the thinking for one character. And discuss optimization but not worry otherwise, about the others.

I can't find one. There's a small collection of mods on Thunderstore, and a handful on Nexus Mods that might help by making your runs easier though. If you're having trouble you could get a couple of mods to juice up your runs while you're unlocking characters.

If nothing else it could be useful to keep an eye on those sites, in case someone does upload what you're looking for.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, and screw anyone who tells you that you're playing video games in a way that they don't like.

There is a profile editor as part of the Obeliskial Essentials mod (available on Thunderstore)

But, you don't need to do that, the devs have shared a profile with everyone that allows you to fully unlock pretty much everything needed with minimal effort.

You can find the profile in the #known-issues of their discord and replace your own player.ato file with the provided one (see the instructions in the #known-issues channel for more detail)

you can just have my file if you want, all characters unlocked, just one of the new ones not maxed out. (and two others that I don't own the DLC for)
Add me on steam and I'll send it to you.
This will prevent you from getting some achievements, if you care about that at all.

Games are much faster solo due to lag when playing cards. You tend to optimise your team around a single strategy, or dip into two, bless/wet bleed/poison poison/dark lightning/cold/wet etc. making thinking close to pointless. And the 0.5 seconds extra lag when playing cards in multiplayer makes for a lot of time in the end. Especially on higher madness when monsters are beefier.
The big decisions you make are where you are going at that point. And you usually map out your route fast at the start of an act.

EDIT: Unless going for high score and you are playing highest madness (which you wont do with randoms anyway), where thinking definitely plays a role, a single card played on the wrong character could spell disaster.
