Across the Obelisk
So how come even now the Launcher is not mentioned on the Store Page
Surely by Steam rules, they have to, now they have imposed it on us, advise potential purchasers in advance?

I do not remember any game I own on steam to advertise that they have launcher. Is that mandatory?
Well for example, Ubisoft games, EA games, I dont tend to buy those because they quite rightly put the launcher on the store page details.

All games with 3rd party accounts do so. Even other Paradox games

Here's from Age of Empires 4.

Requires 3rd-Party Account: Paradox Account (For Multi-player) (Supports Linking to Steam Account)

Requires agreement to a 3rd-party EULA -
Age of Wonders 4 EULA
"a launcher exists" is not required to be stated on a steam page and i have no idea why people think it is. there's so many counterexamples that it's pointless to list them all and the only way i can think of how you would conclude it needs to be listed is if you, for some reason, conflate a number of different things that have nothing to do with a launcher with a launcher.

Age of Wonders does have that info, but I cannot find it on the Age of Empires as you wrote. Either I am blind and can't find it, or it is not there. Also this topic is more about launcher than 3 party accounts, so another example of it being not listed can be Baldurs Gate 3. I think list of games without this information that they actually have launcher will be quite long.

I miss typed and put Age of Empires rather than Age of Wonders 4. But it does state at the bottom Age of Wonders 4.

All of those things I listed are missing from Obelisk's Steam Store Page.
Here are some more games that do not list that they have launchers:
Total War games.
Pretty much every Stardocks game(Sins of a Solar Empire, Ashes of Singularity etc.).
In fact, I havent found any games that I own that tells me that they have launchers.

They tell you if they require the acceptance of a 3rd party EULA or Account.
And so does Across the Obelisk.
Note the text you quoted "Requires 3rd-Party Account". Across the Obelisk has nothing that cares about whether you have a Paradox account (the launcher will let you log in, but nothing in-game cares whether you do).

Only if you are Online.
Try that in Offline Mode.
Or Steamdeck.

The game won't work. It will boot up to the first menu, then you'll get a black screen and zero interactions. The devs state it's a bug to be corrected, but it will take at least 2 months (if it happens).

Offline mode issue is a bug(unintended), and will be fixed once the devs start up again after the holidays(update in mid-January is what they said).
Probably similar issue with Steamdeck.

The point is, it is not intended behaviour, and it will be fixed.

You do not need to have a Paradox account to launch AtO. Not sure that a Paradox account is mandatory at all, though I do have one.
