Need a frost mage!
First off, love the game. I hope to 100% it soon.

I like that there are lightning-focused and fire-focused mages, but where's the frost mage love? I feel like that whole branch is neglected.

Also, my favorite things in these games is to try different "builds" (with perk points). Please look into adding a few options there. Not much, because I feel that the balance is good with most things.

Anyway. Thanks for the love poured into this game. I just found the Maniac Mansion reference and laughed.

Zek has a frost path.

True, but even in his frost path he wants many curse spells. I dont think he can be called frost mage because he does not synergise at all with cold spells.

Every mage can be a decent Ice Mage through perks and itemization(yes, even Cornelius).

Evenlyn can get some bonuses to applying Chill and can grant a party member frost weapons to stack chill faster(which can be turned into Crack etc.). She can even become a pretty decent tank/off tank if built right.

Cornelius can make a Chill+Burn build, using the Frost Fire ring. This allows him to use a bunch of cold spells, stack Chill(and Burn) and then detonate it with Immolate. You can set the perks so that burning benefit cold spells.

Wilbur can use books and various cold spells, which you can mix and match to produce great effects and efficient utility. Several Cold spells can provide Wet(which can be "perked" to provide additional cold damage for cards like Winter Orb), so a few choice Lightning spells(like Lightning Ball) can still pay off.
The Freezing Ink that you can get from the Blue portal is pretty awesome on such a build.

Zek has cold based damage built into his kit(on the right path). You can mix and match various curses(like Curse of Fragility and Curse of Vulnerability) with some cold spells.
Having the Cursed Dagger on him and using it with multi-hit cards like Blizzard or Winter Orb is pretty awesome.

Well, yes, and no. There is no dedicated cold wizard.
You can specc them on cold, but most need either levels or equipment to make it function, meaning, you can't really start out cold early on for most of them.
If you want to make a cold-crack build, you are kinda funneled into Evelyn - Zekk is too unreliable, and the others don't apply as many chills as Evelyn can.
But even then, it doesn't feel right. Sure, you can do a lot of things with itemization, but that too is partly RNG and needs a lot of setup.

I personally would like to see a Zek rework so that his cold build is more in-built via his level passives instead of his level enchantments.

For instance, when you have a certain number of Chill debuffs on a target, then take extra Blunt damage. You know, something.

well, there is a perk capstone that reduces blunt resistance by -0.3% per Chill charge ...

I’ve used Evelyn as a pure frost mage with Wilbur as a secondary support/frost mage on madness 14 successfully; her enchant weapons ability is OP. I still use frost weapons even in Faeborg (including final boss)
