Multiplayer server issue

I am unable to load the multiplayer and it gives me an error: Failed to load Steam API please restart your steam. I have done so multiple times and restarted my computer. I just played the game last night so not sure why it won't work today regarding multiplayer.

I'm experiencing this as well. Attempted to restart steam and relaunched the game several times but it hasn't resolved yet.

I just went through the whole process of running as admin, allowing both steam and across the obelisk through my firewall, and making sure I was opted out of any beta content. Listened to a few videos and threads about fixing the steam API issue and I'm met with no actual solutions for the last hour

I'm having the same problem, but 3 of my friends can play multiplayer just fine. I feel this has something to do with the recent update.

Having the same problem over here, was playing just fine but then steam updated and now I have the same error

I too am having this issue, with my friend also being able to join a multiplayer game. I ran through all the api stuff and nothing changed. even uninstalled steam. other games online functions are working for me.

The multiplayer here started working again after joining the steam beta, justo go to top left corner press "Steam" then go Settings > Account > Beta. Join the Beta and your steam will update and reopen and the multiplayer will work fine

this shouldn't be necessary to do though, especially when the issue seems to come from the new update

FOUND THE SOLUTION

Tried the following the solutions i found on the internet and NOTHING was working
- enabling on firewall
- disabling steam beta
- restarting steam and PC
- ending steam client helper process

BUT THEN I TRIED LEAVING THE STEAM BETA ON, AND IT WORKED

I think is an issue with the last steam update. Since the beta version of Steam is different version of Steam, it worked
