Brain damage healing itself?
Hey All, I'm not sure if I'm just not understanding the mechanics correctly but when I use characters like Nez or Gustav, randomly at times spells that apply brain damage/insanity show the damage done and then immediately heals the unit back, doing zero net damage.

This has happened with enough regularity that I'm questioning my own sanity (is that the mechanic...?). Mobs don't have any auras which would heal them on hit so I'm at a loss for what could actually be causing this. I really want to play these characters but just can't at this point because of how annoying this is.

Before submitting as a bug I'm assuming it's a problem with me, as watching videos of others playing Nez/Gustav on Mad16 doesn't seem to present the same issue. Thanks for reading.

do you have the perk that reduces targets hp based on insanity?

Because then whats happening is...

Damage is dealt, Then the hp reduction is applied, making it look like things are getting healed,

With the mental perk, you reduce maximum health by 2, it does not deal any damage. Its only useful against enemies that regen a lot, overall not a very good perk, since you often out damage your mental debuff.

I do think it has a benefit against enemies who use a lot of Block or various forms of healing, but yes, it is very specialized.
