Any plans for diversifying the cast?
Are there any plans to make a wider variety of female characters?
I'm asking because I'm tempted to buy the game but I'm a bit disappointed that the majority of the characters are white men and that the only two female characters are both conventionally attractive mages.
I'm put off by this is because I'm tired of female characters in general being relegated to ranged or healer roles, as the implication is often that women aren't good at fighting and need magic or non-strength based weapons to be useful in a fight. To be clear, I doubt that's your intention, I am just trying to explain that it's part of a wider pattern and I want to know if you plan on addressing this.

I don't really know if I want to get involved in this discussion as it's getting rather ridiculous, but it should be noted that Magnus, Grukli, Ottis and Nezglekt all have "skins" that make their skin tone darker/black. One of the simplest solutions, (if they really think this is a problem), would be to give some of the other male characters skins that change their racial appearance by adjusting their skin tones like they did with the above characters. Just a thought.

As a side note, I never thought of Magnus as being "white". He has dark brown, black or reddish-brown fur in his three skins.

If you're going to argue that Grukli and Wilbur don't count as white men, then you're not arguing honestly. You could just as easily declare that none of the characters are human, because they don't exist on real-world Earth. But it's a blatantly dishonest argument and everyone knows it.
As someone rudely told me somewhere else. Your assumption that those characters are by default white is due to your inherit racism in assuming that a character with no defined race is white.
If you actually give the reasons for why you think they are white then maybe your not a racist.

Then you have 3 fairly non-denominational characters that are nonetheless male:
-Heiner (male anthropomorphization)
-Thuls (male anthropomorphization)
-Nezglekt (male anthropomorphization)

Then you have only 2 female characters, one of which is a somewhat problematic racial stereotype.
I really wanted to make this joke too, but then I thought it was a bit too far-fetched to be fun :lunar2019deadpanpig:

There's a difference between being a racist and having racial bias. Someone who's grown up in a culture that creates media and speaks like being white is the default would be expected to assume the furry creatures are white, the same way I wrongfully default to using he as a pronoun for people and things I don't know the gender for. It doesn't make you a bad person, but it is a negative trait that good people need to acknowledge and attempt to improve.

I dont agree with all the "white" stuff (you can change the color of the skin), but i would like more female characters, not just a standard mage chick and a voodoo queen. Give us some variety. All the others characters are obviously males.

Heiner is obviously male because of our intrinsic bias
He`s man-made, if he wasn`t male he`d have robot tits

Nezglekt, by lore, is part of a race that reproduces by infecting people with tadpoles
I`d say more yuck than male

I'm honestly blown away that something like this would even be a factor in deciding if you want to play or buy a game.

I decide to buy a game based on the gameplay. Something like this never even crossed my mind until i read this.
I'm a white male and i've never once given a first though, let alone a second thought to playing as an asian woman, or a black man... or anything else for that matter.

It's unfortunate that so many people see color or gender instead of just "heroes"

It's easy for you to dont see the color or gender, because the standard is main white males characters. Women and potc ask every day for diversity and not only tokens (aka companions of the MC). There is no problem with you being who you are, just try to understand us.

They simple used the white male's trope as that is the most prevalent type within most media and also within this game.

So the reasoning they replied with the OP being the really problem is due to in this specific case that white male's while the largest individual group within the cast only make up 25% of cast and only 60% of the humans. So while alot higher that it probably should be it's not as bad as alot of other games.
Not really accurate.

I think there are valid discussions to be had about desiring more diversity from the cast.
ok lets go with your logic.
there is 4/5 white character and 4/5 black characters.
Magnus bassed on a army personal of any country so likes go with japaness or asian or korean. also should be noted his colours are brown, blue/black and orange
grukli and a lost hiker that can be either white or black based on his skins.
heiner by character is very loyal and pay back his debts like most japaness characters that has the colours bronze. black and both black/white.
andrin is just a normal white hunter.
thruls is a lizard man that has the normal lizard colours, black and a green.
evelyn white student
corn is a old white mage like most if not all great mages in media.
wilber is a white gnome based on most common of gnomes seen.
regi and a eurpian priest
ottis and also a priest but has the colour options of pink and black.
malukah is a black shamen like most shamens shes bassed off of.
nez is a squid that has no white but does have the option of being black.
bree a female deer.
sylvie a white female high elf.
zek a rat
gustav the frog. ya not enough diversity.

umm both heiner and nez are male by lore. in heiner stats screen it legit has in bolded letters at the bottom of the character bio. defensive frontliner that can defend others or himself

and nez is the seventh son of a large family. that said we know for a fact that 2 out of the characters coming are females we know one male based on the name and one we are not sure on.

this i kinda disagree with while i am a white male. i really dont care about the race colour or gender of my characters. nor is that important to game for me. was tomb raider good because of the female character or gameplay. while some can argue its the character games like uncharted that have similar gameplay shows its mostly the gameplay and story. that said i can see were people are coming from when it comes to wanting more black and or female characters
