Madness 8+ Team ideas?
What sort of team do I want for high madness levels? It becomes so crippling, it verges on not much fun. Less Energy, can't craft anything but basic decks. I'm willing to try, I'm on Level 5 Madness (the left tabs, discounting the right-hand side modifiers though I do use some), and got some basic decks, but struggling with the team. Currently trying Bree/Heimel for tanks, Sylvie (sometimes Gustav), Wilbur for energy/Spark damage and Ottis for Sanc healing and dispelling. I have tried two mages as well, but still struggling as you get pushed into poorer cards when you can't out-damage the Corruption modifiers for extra rewards, and can't score Excellent/Great rewards for finishing faster due to less energy/damage.

Just finished M6 with Cornelius/Malukha/Thuls/Heiner in that order so healer is between dps. Healer stacking regen with the perk that heals neighbors and vitality stacking for higher hp on team, while having Malukha push damage assists with vile gas/holy fire. It has taken me alot of min/maxing to force this team through but so far its working.

It gets a lot tougher as you go up in madness for sure. Team composition is fairly important and getting characters that pair up together well can help a lot. Like taking Gustav and Nezglekt or Bree and Sylvie for example.
Recently been having a lot of success with running an damage focused Reginald with Magnus up front taking hits and inflicting bleed, Ottis as main healer via shield, and Evelyn as energy support and some extra damage. Getting mostly Excellent/Great rewards with that team comp at the moment.
But yeah, hope that kinda helps. Good luck.
Most teams will work, but super meme dps glass cannon teams basically don't.

I think in general you need one fast character to build up team defenses/mitigation early. Usually that'd be Magnus or Bree, but Gustav can sorta do it with evasion songs. Having a defensively self-sufficient front liner is nice but you need to spread something around the team for survivability.

Also consider which resist auras you will need most based on your planned biome path. And by act 4 make sure your cleric at minimum has one courage aoe and one mass dispel.

Basically 1-2 characters will end up carrying your damage, and I would keep them in the middle slots as much as possible. If your DPS dies it's almost always a wipe so they need to be able to go ham but still survive.

My M14 clear was Reginald, Cornelius, I think Grukli? ...and Magnus. I haven't tried a new setup yet because honestly high Madness playthroughs are pretty exhausting - but if I had to concoct a 'dream team' with everyone currently in the game, it would probably be Nezglekt, Gustav, Sylvie, Magnus.

I haven't tried played far on madness, I think only 3. I like Reginald, Thuls, Adrin, Heiner but sadly higher madness ruins this team.
On low madness if Adrin uses fast buff then Heiner can go before most enemies and use his laser + block skill to give entire team ~200 block while Adrin stacks mark and vulnerability, Reginald buffs Thuls with bless/powerful and Thuls hit enemies for a lot (I think Thuls did more than 3k damage in 1 round against last boss on madness 3 on turn 4, thanks to his abilities that hit twice for 1 energy and the free small weapons he gets, it all scale great with damage bonuses).
Most cards are also the cheapest version so it doesn't require too many shards to get a decent deck up.

But speed of higher madness makes it not as good. Although if I add Chant of Initiative instead of Song of Celerity then I can give Heiner 4 instead of 2 fast which means he should be able to get defensives up on first turn, some RNG involved with if cards are drawn or not but I try to have a lot of cards to go through deck quickly.

I also played this with Reginald as a Sanctify character but I think it would be a lot safer to use him as a normal healer to be able to heal when needed since sanctify is pretty unreliable and weak on him before last talent (and it would also make it easier to stack bless on Thuls for more damage).

You can start every character with +30% resist all too. Just make them go before enemies and boom, huge resists for 2-3 rounds.

We are currently using Grukli, Gustav, Sylvie, Bree
Gustav always goes first because of speed and has a couple Chants of Accuracy to buff Sylvie. And then always the same tactic Bree gives Thorns, Block, and gives the enemy a couple vurnable stacks. Grukli does whatever until he has enough Fury stacks (he is mainly our Boss Killer) and Sylvie goes last and puts everything in 1 or 2 big attacks and after she shoot most of the enemy team is down.
