Local Coop ?
I know couch gaming isn't the main concern of PC games. But I'd love being able to play this game in local coop. So a few questions are coming to my mind.
Will this game ever see a controller compatibility ? And if it does (even if it doesn't, just giving an IU for the "P2 takes the mouse !" would already be great) will we ever have access to a local coop ?
Would make the game delightfull for players like us !

If you have multiple mice and respect what the other player(s) want to do, you can do this already. Multiplayer, aside from allowing play over the internet, is basically this plus ensuring that players don't steal the inputs of other players.

A couple of caveats - you'll have to agree on where to go on the map and what response to pick during an event, there's no mechanism to "debate" over it in singleplayer when the local multiplayer team disagrees, you'll have to decide yourselves first. For better or worse, you'd be sharing the same save file, which means same unlocks and singleplayer limits on stocking chests to use in a single run (minor point, but there's probably some players who would mind.)

However, if you own multiple Steam-capable devices and have internet access on them, there's a way to do "local" co-op with independent saves. I won't elaborate on it in this post, but its how I play with family without buying several copies of the game to use in the same house.

Yeah sure, but without controller support it can be pretty annoying to do so, would be great to see a local coop with controllers, that way it's truely couch gaming !

so back when windows 95 was the current windows that how we played games like worms risk ect on pc hell we did this for alot of games to have them be coop/mmultiplayer and back then we had to have it wired so it was a bigger pain then it would be nowadays

Yeah I know, I did that a lot too, even played solo games that way with friends acting like they were multiplayer games. But not everyone's a gamer and convincing casual people to play with you is waaaay easier when everyone has their own controller and when the game has a local coop game mode.

I didn't mean to complain about the lack of local multiplayer, but I wanted to know if we were ever going to see one. It's not because something is doable that it cannot get any better and that you shouldn't ask for better ! At least that's my take on it, I'd just love controller compatibility even tho it's clearly not a priority for the game !

Totally agree, dedicated settings for local co-op would be a great addition.

Aw man, local co-op and controller support and I would have bought the game instantly.
Without those I am just not sure it's worth it for me. Looks cool though.

Even though you can accomplish the same by passing around the mouse, it's all about the feeling of “player agency”. A player holding their controller for the whole game and having full control when it is their turn to take a decision will always feel better than “passing the mouse around”. Seeing the crazy good reviews, I wished this had local coop + controller support to introduce my girlfriend to roguelike deck building. As you're indie, I can understand if this isn't at the top of your priority list, keep up the good work

One more voice to the local co-op with controllers (and please, a console release) and it's an instant buy!

I could not get the controller to work even in single player. Looks like a really fun game to Co-op if it ever gets fixed!
