Balance & Bugs
As you already know Across the Obelisk is a game with a lot of possibilities when it comes to deck building and combat, this freedom and variety in cards/items makes the game difficult to balance and there is nothing that goes too far off the rails, also the game has many combats that vary in difficulty depending on the Act or game mode.

So if you have any problems or suggestions on how to balance a certain card or combat, we have created a sub-forum for that.

Also the game is quite complex and has the added difficulty of being a multiplayer game, we are a small team and we have always tried to find and fix as many bugs as possible, but surely there is one that has escaped us.

We have also created a sub-forum for bugs and errors so we can leave the general channel free.

We would appreciate it if you could post each thread in its respective sub-forum to keep everything more organised.

Does fortify have a cap, after all, is it a bug, or am I missing something? Playing Heiner, Evelyn, Wilbur, Malukah. Heiner granting fortify to either himself or others seems capped at 3, sometimes 2. Or maybe the buff isn't getting applied for some other reason?

Fortify doesn't stack with subsequent buffs (only the largest value is retained/applied), if that helps? So it's tough to get it much above 3 stacks or so (barring a few cards that can give up to 6-7 stacks) usually.

yes, thank you! ugh, too bad. yeah, it even says "charges don't stack" or something, but since there were clearly stacked charges on the characters already, I thought it must mean something else, like eg "more than one charge does not have any additional effect".

When I go to launch the game, it changes my cursor to the in-game cursor design, but nothing else happens. When I click, it then brings up a black screen (the in-game window) but hangs until I force close it

Not sure if it has been said already, but noticed that bleed says it meant to do its damage at the start of turn, but it does so at the end kind of like how poison works
Winter is coming turns water to cold before applying damage, but the card reads as if it will do damage first. When running the new perk where water causes extra cold damage, it says it will do more damage than it actually does because of this ordering.

You sure? Maybe its something situation-specific... my cohort and I see Bleeding working as advertised.

One of the last bleed perks causes it to deal damage at the end of turn in exchange for being able to bypass bleed immunity.

i have this bug too:(
For some reason I cannot connect to the online multiplayer. Whenever I try to host a game, or join one, my ping will stay at 200 ms and then it kicks me back to the title screen (no error codes or anything). This happened two patches ago as well. Then, after a random patch I was able to play again. However, since this last hotfix I have not been able to connect to the server.

With that being said, I have verified the integrity of the game files and reinstalled the game. Any other advice would be great thanks. This is the only game that gives me trouble, so I don't think it is an internet issue.

The game doesn't seem to let me save perk loadouts for Heiner (and maybe others?). I have saved loadouts for Magnus and Grukli and they have worked as expected: pick perks you want, click "Save", name the loadout, and then click on a previously saved slot to overwrite with the saved loadout. With Heiner, when I save one loadout, then configure another and save it, when I try to switch back to the first, it just leaves me with the most recently saved loadout.
Hey Devs, I believe there is a bug with the 3rd choice for the final Fury perk. The perk reads "Fury on this hero increases damage by 5% per charge. Bleed on this hero does 50% more damage and cannot be prevented by Buffer or immunity to bleed." In game, the tooltip read-out of Fury still states 3% damage increase per charge yet the bleed damage correctly shows 50% more damage than charge count. So I'm not sure if the 5% per charge of Fury is working or if the tooltip is just displaying the wrong information. Cheers.
I think there is a bug with how the slashing and piercing damage is currently calculated.

When going into the perk trees for slashing and piercing damage. It doesn't reflect these bonuses in the character sheet. It also no longer seems to buff the damage number on the cards like the poison and bleed or elemental damage perks.
Are Zek's 2nd and 4th level abilities (Putrefaction and Absolute Darkness) really intended to be the exact same? I'm suspecting that Putrefaction maybe has the wrong tooltip and/or effect?
small bug with damage text from dark charges, when you hover over the charachter with dark instead of saying "when it reaches 25 charges do 2 damage per charge" the text says instead do "x damage per charge" where x is actually 2* charges, IE, if you have 12 charges it will say "when this reaches 25 do 24 damage per charge". I didn't see how much damage it actually did however, it was quick so I think its the correct damage but we were worried about taking 1,250 damage if it really was going to be 50 * 25
