When I play on keyboard, I use this format:

A = left
S = down
D = right
space = up
U = punch
J = kick
I = slash
O = heavy slash
P = dust
K = dash
L = burst
; = roman cancel

I don't know if this is "optimal" but it mirrors my hitbox bindings.

i use this configuration in all arcsys games

A = left
S = down
D = right
W = up
J = punch
I = kick
K = heavy slash
L = slash
O = dust
E = taunt
space = burst
LShift = dash
A = left
S = down
D = right
space = up (thumb)

[ = punch
] = kick
/ =slash
end = heavy
+ = RC
backspace = fd
? = dust (thumb)

. = reset position
capslock/q/w/e/r/f = keys for literally anything u need binded
arrow keys = extra movement keys for options menues and running around tower i suppose

Using W for jump was a mistake I made initially. I don't know anyone who can press w-s and s-w as fast as they can a-d or d-a. ur just inviting awkwardness and delay from travel time whenever ur in the air....214 air inputs were really bad as well to do with that setup ur hand is stretching outside of bounds and made it hard to move freely while attacking like u need to be able to do in this game. with it bound to space u can superjump without any hassle, somethig most players seem incapable of doing. use shift asd space for your left hand, once u get used to it u won't go back to w.
