im gonna be honest, im a casual, 2 years ago i saw some funny vids, downloaded some funny mods, picked up pot and actually tried to get god for the first time in a fighting game. it was nice, i learned my karas, worked a controller to death learning actual inputs and combos, nothing super fancy but im just fundamentally not good at rehearsing inputs, but i worked hard, and eventually got a really solid Potemkin and it felt nice to lock in on occasion and get some legitimately good games out of myself, felt nice, saying to myself, "hay, maby im not complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at fighting games".

now i have to relearn everything and it just fundamentally dosnt feel good, people say pots stronger, but i never cared about that, i just like having a character that clicked for me, and that i enjoyed playing and improving with, it was nice.

now? feels like the 200 hours i spent overcoming my ♥♥♥♥ skills and genuinely being optimistic about getting better with the big lad was a mistake, that i should have just put that energy and optimism into more practical things in my life, cause now i feel like im back at square one. and while i could climb those stairs again, i just dont want to, makes me sad.

i think thats what the problem is with this patch, its just, kinda disrespectful to take a character thats had a kit built up over 4 years and just demolish it for something that people seem to hate fighting more, and not enjoy using as much. nobody asked for this, but ultimately i wasnt motivated by getting good, but rather knowing that i could get good, and that was probably a mistake. fighting games arent meant for improving your sense of self worth and confidence. or maybe guess i just feel like im an idiot for investing my time into something that i wast obsessively passionate about.

I mean you do you, but its not like you're starting from scratch yknow. You still have the fundamental knowledge and skills built up over those 200 hours, and its not like Pot's gameplan changed that much (even if he lost karas and some inputs changed).

Maybe take some time and try out other characters? You might find someone else that clicks for you. I felt the same way about Ky when season 4 dropped and now I'm learning Sol and Testament and I'm having a blast playing characters I wouldn't have bothered trying before.

i think its just depressing, admittedly half of those hours was put in at the start of last year, and ive been shifting focus to honestly way more important irl stuff, especially this year. ill give it some time still, and if i do return and still aint feeling pot and hop mains, its probably going to be either bedman, or if im feeling insane, picking back up happy chaos.

If you can't transfer what you learned with old Pot to new Pot, it means you're lacking certain fundamental skills.
You can still play casually against other casual players, just at a slightly lower rank.

hay color me suprised, frankly i wouldnt mind flick and geruda getting reverted, flick being universal seems silly, and geruda not causing pushback feels wrong. frankly, the devs are still ponces though, this shouldnt have happened in the first place, and for them to backtrack so hard while ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up millia, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with testament, and continuing to neglect zato means someone has got skewed priorities.
