[ARCADE] How did you beat Extreme Nagoriyuki?
I spent five hours trying it and can't even beat the Stage 8 Extreme version and there's still Stage 9 after that lol

Tried with Potemkin first and made it to Stage 8 easy then found it impossible to beat him.

Spent like four hours trying with Anji and managed to nearly beat him for 2 straight rounds but no bueno

So what did you do? Do I need an OP DLC character to cheese him to something?

I would but I really don't want to buy the Season 3 pass just to get a cheevo lol, anything like this possible with the base game roster? tbh I easily potemkin bustered my way to stage 8 but then the difficulty went WAY up.

The ultra aggro AI doesn't like to stand still for too long so you must bully them non-stop and corner carry. And if they, eventually, feel forced to block, you either keep spamming until their guard break or throw them. That's the best way to win.

Some people say Stage 9 Nagoriyuki is weak to jumping and throws but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I think Giovanna is another character that has quick and easy spammy tools, btw.

He's weak to throw loops. It is possible for him to escape them, but it's not common for him to be able to.

What's a throw loop? My most successful attempt was crouch blocking and then throwing him when he teleported up close.

Throw him, run up to him, and as soon as he stands up completely and is vulnerable, throw him again. Rinse and repeat until he dies. Basically, you "loop" the throws over and over again.

Damn, that timings gotta be good. Might try this method when I reattempt.

Is that how you beat him btw?

Yeah. I'm celestial with multiple characters, and there's just no way I'm out playing arcade Nago in any kinda standard fight. So after banging my head against it for two hours, I said "screw it" and just exploited his AI.

There is an element of timing for sure, but it didn't feel unrealistically tight. The problem isn't that the timing is tight (you get used to the rhythm pretty quick), the problem is that you have to throw him a couple dozen times in a row and if you mess up even once he will escape the loop and will kill you immediately. There's a lot of margin for error, and a single mistake could be fatal. So even though I knew what to do and how to do it, it still took a few tries before I got it right.

Nice dude! And you used this method for both Stage 8 & 9 Nago? Also which char did you use for it?

Both stage 8 and 9 share basically the same AI so both can be beaten using throw loops, and I've done it with every character. However, be mindful if you try it with Leo since his throw puts him in back turn stance, which disrupts the loop timing.

Remember that he CAN get out of it, even if you don't mess up. The reason this works well is because his AI very rarely attempts any of the options that beat this situation, but it does still do them sometimes. It will still be a dice roll everytime; it will simply be a dice roll heavily in your favor.

Finally done it!!

Thank you very much mate. This method worked especially well with Potemkin because each 3-4 throws results in him dizzy, after which I could land an extra damage Potemkin Buster (yep when he is dizzied the PB does a lot more damage). Literally just finished the fight now FINALLY! THANK YOU!

Took me 8 hours over 2 days lol, hope others can see this and get it faster!!

Found my own way with Sol ) Knock him down by any means once and start jumping at him as he gets up. When he's almost completely up - double jumb -> Bandit Bringer. He mostly tries to counter with rising slash, whiffs and eats Bringer. Repeat until he gets stuned - he's most likely in corner now - and go all out with the best combo you can reliably unleash to deal heavy damage with arena change. My choice is close S-S-down HS-Vortex-K-forward S-Fafnir/TyrantRave. Repeat 2-3 times... and get absolutely nothing but a bit of satisfaction.

With Anji, Started the match with qcfK spin, little S,H combo, then repeated qcfP butterfly, run up and grab. If anything goes wrong there's reversal super to mash. And hope I don't mess up on the input.
Still took 2-3h to figure out and another to not ♥♥♥♥ up, but the flowchart is easy.

wrt throw looping, i found that jumping over him as he got up would usually bait a dp since thats how he usually beats... most things
