This.... is going to be a long one....So here goes.

Before I begin let me preface some stuff.
The 2 competing sides to this who rap with bridget are both ridiculous,.

Noone who has been playing Guilty Gear since its inception CARESSSSSSSSS.

Bridget was fun as a main and fun as a ridiculous character from their inception. Shes was fun then and is even more ridiculous and fun now. Her backstory is ridiculous, her gender is unhinged.... shes a yo-yo fighter with a giant teddybear in a freaking game with.... Demons, ghosts, GUY WITH BIG SWORD.....WHO LOVES HIS..... BIG LONG THICK SWORD...and... effeminate blue guy whos in nooooo way not not into big sword guy.... they are both BL stereotypes....

The whole series is a "what if players were able to live in every single anime trope that exists, which Daisuke has admitted, its an anime game...

And for those that say they CAREEEEE so much about the story..... WHAT FORKING STORY. Its all unhinged crap. You mean to tell me you have time to even piece it together when you have to jump in and train fast enough to compete in the hellscape that is competitive guilty gear.... COME THE HELL ON, Its like Melty Blood, NOONE HAS TIME... You either get good or put it the heck down, there is no in-between. We are lucky to enjoy eye candy at the character select screen cause once we hear "LETS ROCK," Its a split second blood bath. NOOOONEEEE CARESSSSSSSSS.

The "woke" need to chill the hell out and the "non woke" need to as well.

I mean, lets first stop to look at the argument, woke and not woke.... Its like saying the Educated and the everyday.... Or like that FEMALE politician who just made fun of Peter Buttidgej, calling him a girl... You are a girl maam... You saying he's a girl means that you urself cant be an elected official if being a girl is a weak thing to be.

So lets get into this nonsense. and I say nonsense because its VERRRRYYYYY obvious that the people up in arms about this are not long time fighter fans.

So lets begin disscting the arguments with facts.

Let me educate as someone who has lived there half my life. Lgbt people exist in Japan, there is an ENTIRE gay district in Shinjuku, or , Sin city Babieeeee, Called Ni-Chome.

The television studios, which follow government obscenity laws, dont like to show lgbt people, infact they are pressured to show stereo typical hyper effeminate men, flamboyant ones. They dont show people like, elliot paige. The government considers lgbt people as mentally ill. The stances have softed a bit but not much, however the Japanese Constitution specifically says not citizen of japan can infringe on anothers life, so lgbt people are still protected but not allowed marriage and face healthcare issues.


That said, japan has had an acceptance procedure for sex change and gender marker change for DECADES.

This is not new. There are countless stories of transitioning people, old and new.
Even though the media portrays lgbt people negatively, there have been countless personalities on TV as Identifying as She and He opposite to their birth sex.

Heck back in 2007-2010, there was a trans woman personality from Brazil, a country with the most overseas Japanese citizens in the world, japan has a very large imprint there.

So this isnt new, briget is not political correctness run amok. In fact, its not the Libs attacking Arc, its the incel nerds who wont admit they are attracted to a crossdresser and mask their feelings by saying Arc has no integrity and bows to the liberal agenda….

The Japanese version dialogue literally says she's a girl… so not only do these losers not understan japanese society outside of anime and a few translated books on Bushido and Hagakure, they cant even understand Japanese language or ever been there.

Now that thats out of the way lets go over terms and their actual definitions irregardless of where one might stand on this issue. The term femboy came specifically from Thailand, it is a social class of men, who in some cases take hormones but mostly engage in some type of female gender representation, not to be confused as crossdressers but its a vague line.

This term came from thailand and is now used in the US to describe some twinks and crossdressers alike.

The outrage of over this FICTIONAL character, on both freaking sides is a hefty mis understanding of the character, also a profound mis translation thanks to decades of localization.

So eberyone needs to chill and listen to an unbiased player.


1st bridget wasnt “raised a girl,” or groomed or anything. First, shes forking fake, shes a 2d drawing. But if you want to keep going heres where Daisuke got her back story, she was told to be a girl, bridget knew this and accepted the terms, is is because the story was based on the Bruce Lee family curse.

Bruce Lee's mother gave him a feminine name early in life when his brother died, she believed her family was cursed and that all the men were doomed to die.


At no point does she equate her own outward appearance as lady boy, femboy or otherwise, she just likes teasing people with the crossdressing, its a job responsibility. Do bounty hunting whilst dressing in Drag, thats really it. this is Guilty Gear... its not deep, noone really understands the story, stop pretending, its BIG DUDE... SWORD, RED SUIT CHICK BOOBS. OH AND THERES A CROSSDRESSER...

It would seem as the game’s progressed and daisuke went out into the world that he opened up Bridgets story.

This goes to where we are now.. she finished her mission and had no direction, she... And I qoute, LIVED as a man following the completion of her ... contract to her village and family, showing the curse wasnt real but realized she hated it and she decided she liked herself better as a girl.

this puts away the stupid argument that its grooming as well. she knew what she was doing, spent years trying to get the bounty money and help her village with the mission of proving the curse wasnt real so she could go back to being a guy... she was never not a guy in all of this. Until she wasnt, which is now.

I mean, its almost the same thing as a guy being forced into the military by their family and doing the time, waiting till they have money and a scholarship to get out run away and transition if you think about it.

Now lets talk another term being thrown around.

The term “otokonoko,” can just he broken down to Male Daughter. The only proper localization for otokonoko would actually be transvestite, literally.
Transvestism is the practice of dressing in a manner traditionally associated with the opposite sex. In some cultures, transvestism is practiced for religious, traditional, or ceremonial reasons.

The term Trap was a western anology for 女装, or transvestite. Of course the term is also used in a cutesy manner by otaku and creaters of otokonoko characters but at the end of the day it all means transvestite.


With all that out of the way. The rage from people who are soooooo mad about bridget is laughable, they have Testament now. This is both sides, and I ask you all if you've made it this far to consider the fact that the number of political actors, both foreign and domestic on social media is not zero .

I'm honestly confuse on why this is still an issue. I kind of understand to some degree but at the same time I don't if that makes any sense. I think people just want to fight over ever little thing at this point. Which social media lets them do it when its only a small group of people.

I've said this before in another post but I'll say it here. Bridget will always be Bridget to me. Nothing is going to change that. This is the character that gave me the confidence to be myself as a kid which is why I love the character a lot.

Again that was an interesting read. I knew a couple of things but not all of it. Thanks for the post. ^^ Probable be the only one that thanks you for it.

YES, exactly, I mean look at her character animations. They are the most adorable thing Ive seen in years from a video game, or really any current anime. I CARE not about bridgets gender. If shes a girl now, GREAT, super great, but shes a cartoon.

ACTUALLY, Lets go one further GRAMMATICALLY. If you can read english and comprehend then you'd realize they werent raised a girl at all, they regularly make fun of people for mistaking them as a girl in the first games.. Yeah, the boot time issue seems to have mostly been fixed in the last patch. It loads as fast on its own as it used to with totsugeki

TBH Guilty Gear was never gonna beat the titans, its a much smaller series than something like Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter. Even Dragon Ball FighterZ is bigger because of the clout the Dragon Ball name has

I think theres time for a few giant updates. They are making the money, they can pay their devs, one would hope, maybe a giant dlc might come in december, who knows.

ALso, yes, noone cares about Bridgets gender. Im still gonna have her on my desktop. Ill still cosplay at comiket. The world will continue to turn.
