Native.

Resolution related, can the game actually read on startup what your resolution is set to so it's not going from 1080p then back up when it loads? Because if the window isn't focused during that time it will cut the frame to 1080p but the game will be rendered at a higher resolution, cropping the game to 1080p and forcing a restart of the game.

thanks for addressing/fixing the performance issue that users on 4k displays had with this game. the unofficial "fix" or workaround that involved users manually lowering the resolution wasn't ideal...

guess i'll get back to playing this game again soon

Wish it didn't take year and a half to fix such game breaking issue but at least it's finally done. Game looks gorgeous at 4K and runs perfectly now.

So. uhh.. what was the issue, how did you all find and fix it, and what took so long?

Genuinely curious.

What took them so long is they had no reason to care. Only when Crossplay became required for this game to live a bit longer for them to get more DLC sales did they decide that it was worth fixing. Cause it'd be a hell of an impression to play against someone that lagged everytime there was a counter hit.

Maybe it's just me getting used to steam, but it's pretty scary for devs to go quite for a long time without notice of what they're working on to fix. Fixed trouble shooting post along with the known issues the devs are working on would be nice.

Because they have to certify console builds to push them both simultaneously. So they just don't bother doing small fixes or even singular big issue fixes. They just bundle all the fixes into one patch. It's monetarily not viable to them to constantly push new builds and money is all they care about objectively.

the game won't even launch for me, i get a fatal error on startup. the only thing that fixes it is setting my monitor resolution below 4k. buh bu bh bubhuubu

I do get that they'd have to align the patch on all platform before pushing it through and pushing those patches costs money for them. All crossplay titles does this. They are a corp at the end of the day.

You say it's a "small fix", but I don't think the devs or players realize how big some problems are. It took them 6-8months to just confirm the exploit attacks were on-going, being unable to connect to online has been going on since launch. Heck, I don't think general PC players base even know if they can't maintain constant 60FPS, it causes slow down for both you and the opponent.

I got a fatal error too after launching the game, but can't seem to replicate it. I can still play the game though for some reason.

This thread is referring to specific game lag that happened when natively playing in 4K. Trying and failing to play in 4K in an abnormal way is not the same issue.

Just checked and DSR is working fine here, you must be doing something wrong.

Change your desktop res to the DSR res you want to use in-game before launching, then choose that res in-game. Lots of games limit your max res to whatever is active on the desktop, this is one of them. Plenty others can see any res that's available in windows regardless.

On my Oled C2 4K TV it works but it needs to restart!
