What a stupid post. Sure, he is going to hell cause you don't like the character he made...
Break their toes man. They need to hear this. They ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up one of their most popular characters, which is so surprise because this is what Strive does. It’s SF5 all over again (look at Juri for example from IV to V).

Anybody not actually playing the character and just trying to do "What Rev2/X2/GG" let me do is just kind of mind blocking themselves. She is pretty sick in Strive. As an old X2/AC+/R# player. I don't want to listen to nobody stuck in the past. Work with what's in front of you first then come back to what it could be. Some of ya'll can't even scratch the surface and still out here spamming 5S > 5S > 2H > TG > Kabarai H
Character has good parry that works against zato strings.
I'm a long time legacy baiken player and I still intend to main my main. And yes, I'm very disappointed. She's aight, But she's still an empty husk of a character, they literally did nothing to atleast make her feel like 'Baiken' gutted or not. Sol still feels like Sol, and plays like Sol. Millia still feels like Millia, And still plays like Millia. Pot, ect. Even if they're basically the slimmed down versions of those characters.
That aside from the point. I know its still what, Day one? more or less. and I'll reserve judgement. I know she's got some decent mix and good Oki. But there are characters that do the same thing but better already in the game.
As for everyone saying she's a 'rushdown' character. She's not. She's a setplay/Oki Character character. Sure rush down will win you a few matches. But she's strongest when she's getting small combo's off multiple resets with her Tether and Tatami gimmicks. Again. there are already good setplay/Oki characters in the game that do this better.
Parry is Ass, and I'm damn good at parrying people. it does good damage its active for frames 1-6. But the risk vs reward isn't that great and only gets worse when you start adding latency in. Its a decent reversal tool for hard callouts. But unless you got meter. its simply resets you and the poor shmuck that got parried back to 0 with out meter. which means, Depending on the character you're against. you'll probably wind right back up in the situation you just parried yourself out of.
Kabari is.. Alright, But it really lacks the distinct RPS it used to have. S Kabari being 0 and H being -3 have their uses in a match. and its actually one of the few tools that makes parry useful for forcing people to respect you so you can take a second turn. The tether is... Meme worthy on S Kabari, unless you get a hit. (You probably won't, unless you somehow whiff punish them which does happen on occasion.)
Tether is good, no really it is. If you use it properly. It allows for some -really- interesting instant over heads and ambiguous cross up situations, along with strong high low mix when paired properly with Yozansen, Grab and ect. And the damage you get from a tether combo is.. cute. to say the least. but most of your situations in tether state, you want to finish your damage in a way that lets you set up strong Mix/oki again over the damage. Typically through Air routes. as opposed to ending a small tether string in Kabari.
Baikens alright. But lets be honest. She's abit of a let down in strive. Losing Suzuran sucks. and there are a choice of characters in this game that does what she does but better I think. Which makes me think. Other favorite difficult legacy characters a probably going to get bodied just as badly. RIP future Johnny, RIP future Slayer. as a legacy Baiken player I feel for your future selves.
How are you going to say "It's only day one." Then speak as if we have the character broken down to a complete understanding?
At least when I posted the video of what she's actually capable of there is hard evidence that contradicts several claims of her being a lot of stuff she just isn't.
Your gripes sound like they're with Strive being Strive and that's fine. I got nothing against that.
But if you realize every other character is slimmed down and can still say "They play like themselves" with a vast majority who would argue against you on that front, how are you going to hold that standard against Baiken?
She's missing a great deal as are many other characters. Strive's premise is "Cut the fat, streamline it so people who aren't legacy players understand the game and have fun with it."
There is no "let's be honest" about something subjective in liking a character. You will or you won't and your bias is already marked for her on different layers.
TL;DR: If it's day one act like it. Don't give some huge break down like we've come the crossroads of what the character can do in one breath after admitting objectively it's too early to tell. Especially when you're giving your own perspective of her kit and nothing visual to rely on.
