Does anyone knows how to solve this crash? Low level fatal error line:339
I could launch the game three days ago but now it continues to crash. Try to reinstall and verified game files but they don't work. All my drivers are the newest. Someone please save me.

A texture is failing to compile. Are you using mods?

No I'm not using any mods. It's so weird.

Strive would have made a crash dump. You can find them here:

C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\GGST\Saved\Crashes

Find the most recent one, upload it to google drive, make sure the file isn't restricted and can be shared with anyone with the link, and then post that link here. I can try to find out what is causing this for you.

The issue is being caused by a fault in your Direct 3D 11 processing. In other words, it's crashing at your GPU. My first assumption is that the game somehow corrupted some configuration for some reason. We can try to fix this by resetting the game's configuration files.

First put Steam in offline mode so that your cloud doesn't update. Then go to this path:

C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\GGST\Saved

Delete the "Config" folder. This will reset all of your game configurations, including any settings you had (you'll need to set them back up yourself). This will not delete your save file. After deleting the folder, keep Steam offline and try to boot Strive. If it works, you can put Steam online again and let your cloud update.

Report back if this works.

Thanks for your reply. I could launch the game offline after I delete the config file. However, I still couldn’t launch the game online and it reports the same error.

It seems like the the config files are broken like I thought, and the cloud is restoring your broken files.

Can you send me the config files just like with your crash dump? I will look at them and try to figure out what the issue is. It might be something that's easy to fix.

Keep in mind that ArkSys games like this also stick a config in your AppData directory. This is ~separate~ from your personal save settings, and is commonly referenced in situations where you want to turn up the game's internal rendering multiplier and make the game look less-fuzzy. If you made this modification and did it wrong, it could be causing this error too - correctly formatting this modification is how you'd fix it.

Also check that a forgotten Reshade install or SpecialK isn't trying to do anything either, because those could be trying to hook into the game and cause this.

Steam Cloud has recently been having some issues handling Strive's uploads, so as Emerald is suggesting, deleting the personal settings config in your save folder ~and then try right-click-properties Strive in your game library and deactivating the Steam Cloud for this individual game - until you get it working again - may be the way to allow you to refresh the in-game GFX tuning.

I checked the ini files, but I couldn't find anything that would cause any problems. Compared to my ini file, yours had different resolution settings, used a different fullscreen setting, and was missing the setting for vsync (even if vsync isn't being used there should at least be a listed setting for it). I doubt your issue is being caused by this file, but I went ahead and replaced your GameUserSettings.ini file in your google drive with my own anyway. Copy it into your config folder and see if it makes a difference; if it does work, expect to see different settings from what you might have been using before (it won't hurt anything for you to change these settings in-game if you're able to get it to boot).

I also sent you my SYSTEM.sav file. This is my save file with all my progress (I think I have everything unlocked except figure stuff for Aba and Slayer) and my system settings. Try booting the game with the new ini file first, but if that doesn't work then you can also try placing this file at:

C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\GGST\Saved\SaveGames\#########

Come back and let me know if this worked for you. As always, back up your files before replacing them with anything. And of course, consider following Moonlit's advice and simply disabling the cloud for a little bit. Tbh I forgot it was an option myself; I thought the only way to avoid cloud updates is to be offline.

Thank you all. I tried Moonlit’s way of deactivating steam cloud and it works.

Hello all, I am having a similar problem where it crashes on startup. I recently switched to a new laptop a couple months back and this is my first time downloading strive on it. I get the same error the second the title pops up and it crashes.

I Looked through the previous post on here and couldn't figure out how to do it so I was wondering if someone could help me out.

I really wanna get back into this game so please help I beg

Sadly my game crashed again and since then I couldn't start it either. You could try to first deactivating steam cloud to see if it works. It works for me for few days, but after that I couldn't launch the game.

Damn that’s really sad to hear thanks tho I’ll try that
