Bots or New Players?

I hate to title this discussion post something akin to an insult, but I genuinely feel a difference in the matches I get now compared to what it used to be. I bought Johnny because I wanted to learn him in XRD but I gravitated towards Strive more. I put about 2 days into the lab learning bnbs and basic conversions and against my judgement, I hoped back online expecting to get my ass beat by anyone and everyone like day 1 to early season 2 used to be. I did about 10-20 matches, out of those about 7 of the players either got dc'd or rage quit (I genuinely could not tell which) and the other half played like month 1 floor 7, yet had made it all the way to floors 9-10. I've been playing since day 1 and I remember the days of struggling just to get to floor 9 & 10, has the playerbase dwindled since Chaos and Hackerman or is it just a new influx of new players thanks to Johnny?

Again, I hate to sound like I'm insulting anyone because I feel the opposite, I whole-heartedly welcome newcomers and thank them for trying the game, but I'm wondering why I was consistently losing connection with people and these abnormal playstyles I ran into. I can only assume it's thanks to crossplay servers still being a bit goofy.

there are server issues but i never saw a ♥♥♥ in park and i really dont think developers create fake bots with rcode and different play styles. it is just too much work

fair, I just remember early guilty gear had a problem with people using bots.

It's a big issue, 95% of players behave like bots. It's an epidemic

I noticed the same thing (and I'm pretty bad at the game). Floor 6 players before season 3 were playing better than current Floor 9 players.

I think it is just people who quit the game in first months, because no Jo, then came back after hearing Jo is out.

nah bro. In my first mouth in online, i played as Baiken and my gameplan was 2HS.
I looked like a ♥♥♥, even worse.

Out of curiosity, is anyone also noticing a lot of matches dc after the first or second round? I forgot what it’s called but it seems like a lot of matches regardless of console, the rollback disjoints us by a second and so the whole match is over and I loose connection. Does Totsugeki.exe help at all too? Last I checked it’s marked as a Trojan risk on a redirect to a virus scanner from the downloads page
