I feel that the second one is a bit easier. Buffering a dash after 5S/5K makes it feel like one less thing to time with. If you do the first input, then you will have to precisely time the interval between Dash and HS, though the input is somewhat more intuitive but one more timing to deal with.
in that way it's no different than doing 6S kara volcanic viper, except with the helpful visual guide of the dash cancel having a bright and clearly visible visual effect when you pull it off, and the dash itself having a macro so it's easier to input that 6s.
i do it like this:
- hit an attack (c.S is easiest for me, the second hit of 5k works too, the first hit of 5k is quite tough)
- as you hit, immediately press whatever dash input you prefer.
i find it easiest using the macro but double tapping might work better for you since the second forward input can be part of the volcanic viper input. DO NOT wait for the attack animation to end. you're trying to buffer your dash cancel into c.S.
- when the c.S. animation ends, you're going to dash. the volcanic viper input must be FINISHED immediately afterward so that the STARTUP of the dash is cancelled into it.
in short: hit c.S., hit dash within the buffer timing, then hit volcanic viper during the startup of the dash
DISCLAIMER: i have never hit dash kara vv during a live match
