Tied up with those level-ups I learn matchups, new techs, etc. When I don't feel rewarded (example is that measly 10K XP I'm always getting) it kills my vibe to keep playing. I'm not saying I want to get 250K-275K every time I win, but getting higher amounts of XP more often would be nice.
ArcSys did post a picture of new color variants a few months ago, but they never bothered to keep us updated on whats going on with the additional colors. Unlocking titles for the Wanted poster or maybe a different background and stuff like that would be a nice addition to the game.
i really dont get this mentality some players have these days where they need digital dogtreats to do their homework otherwise it isnt fun or rewarding . you are playing a phenomenal game to play the game , right ?`
the main reason to play a game should be the game
They don't necessarily need to be gated behind a "challenge", but I personally prefer it that way. I get your point about the "digital dog treats" being used in abundance nowadays - but extra rewards for completing challenges have been around for quite a while with Metroid coming to mind, released almost 4 decades ago. A lot of people like it.
Play the game because it's fun. Or don't because you don't like it. If you need to level up in order for the game to be fun, then maybe the game isn't for you.
I only been celestial twice and my level went from 130 to like 200 after my very first time in celestial; Im yet to play as I only recently got my 2nd celestial rank this very month, but given the current tower issues; I do not look forward to play.
You say that, yet you are a celestial player, the levels dont mean much but is an indicator of how much experience you have with said character, so you probabbly know the matchup MUCH better than people below level 500 or 200.
Since the skill level is ALL OVER THE PLACE for Floors 10, 10.5 and Celestial; the character level is the better indicator ingame.
In mk11 it was a literal homework to get skins through towers where you play against bots, I hated that. But of course that was warner bros if you did not want to grind through unfun towers you could just buy the skins, in a store with rotation, to the netherrealm with you
However giving the player to work on something besides just getting better at the game is also important. Giving players objectives gets players to retain interest.
Like it or not, "digital dog treats" keeps games played. Human brain works weird.
