Not excited about Bridget anymore ...

I lost my mind when i first saw the annoucement last sunday at EVO and I now finally got a solid motive to cave in and finally buy the game. I'm really sad to see that my all time favorite GG character has received so much bad attention lately.

I was praying for years to be able to enjoy playing as my main Bridget again in a new GG game and the whole contreversy is ruining the character for me.

I don't like the sudden peak of interest that the series/character got from people that don't even care about the game to begin with. None of these people even knew that Bridget existed until a few days ago ... I'm still going to have fun playing as Bridget, but I wish that all that unnecessary bad attention wasn't a thing.

Is Bridget any fun in Strive ?

Its literally only twitter and MAYBE a couple youtubers crying about Bridget. From what i've seen, majority of the fanbase is simply having fun playing the character.

I use Bridget in AC, and this Bridget is wack as hell. He has some cool ♥♥♥♥, but he's so easy to open up. Any time someone rolls at me with the rolling ball, I just grab them every time. I can't imagine using the character at this point. I'll stick with Nago and Testament.

I'm not a good player so take what I say with a grain of salt. I think Bridget is really fun, its like a mesh of zone and rushdown, and the whole game of playing Bridget is balancing between the two. I think it makes for interesting combat. One minute you're up in them with some heavy DP, then a few steps back and you're using your yoyo to keep them away. Its actually really fun, and I look forward to getting better at the character.

You guys are right, I guess I just wanted people to enjoy the new characters added to the game and be happy that Bridget is finally back after so long instead of debading over trivial stuff and making a fuss about literally anything.

I was trying Bridget again man what a terrible character. I use testament and he got better after the patch but Bridget is borderline unusable now. I play all the GG games, so I'm a veteran but this character is absolutely useless right now. And for God sakes, the opponent can hit yoyo away? That's so bad. It's barely even functional. This characters main function was yoyo, now what is his function? He's like a worse version of Axl.

Hopefully the patch will make the yoyo function more like the old one and hopefully they make Teddy an actual useful thing, because who needs a command grab when people always think you will come toward them anyway and spam 6P's in the first place. It doesn't work.

Yeah, I feel like Bridget was always kinda weak in the games, but zoners are my favourite archetype and I really enjoyed doing that with the yoyos back in the days. Seems like the yoyos got nerfed a bit according to what you're saying, but I'm sure I'll enjoy playing as Bridget nonetheless. Really looking forward to see Elphelt back in the game soon too !

I'm used to maining low tier characters, I'm currently maining Launcher in DNF. And although it's hard to do anything with the character, I still really enjoy the gameplay !

I know that me caring so much about the character is kinda weird, but when your main is finally back after years of disappointing character reveals (Not bashing the other characters btw ... I was just really looking forward to see Bridget back in GG)

It kind of ruins it when there's drama and bad attention surrounding it, that's all.

I'm sure that it would be a little annoying for you too if it's been years since your main was MIA from your favourite games.

This is not a good argument at all. Games are form of art, they tell stories that form out culture. We are collectively involved in this exchange of ideas. Noone has to justify why they care about any kind of character
