So is bridget trans or not?
Possibly spoiler warning so read on at your own risk

It's very confusing. I have not played Bridget yet, but apparently the bad ending shows them becoming a girl, and conforming to the identity that was forced on them.
Yet in the good ending they remain male and say "I will not change no matter what."?
The lack of pronouns on the official page means their gender could go either way based on the good or bad ending?
So what gives? Is Bridget trans or both and none?

Please be civil and don't just attack me for asking a question like the twitter folk do

There isn't a "good" or "bad" end per say, just different branches based on how well you do. In one branch, Bridget says she is a girl, in the flawless branch, this dialogue does not occur.

In the English version, her profile states female pronouns for things she likes. In the Japanese, there are no clear cut pronouns used.

In the lore, Bridget was AFAB by his parents due to a stigma on having twins of the same gender.

This creates a lot of ambiguity for their character and I assume it will go the way of Poison who was female, then localized as trans, then female again, then the creator finally said he will leave it up to player interpretation.

Either way, Bridget is Bridget an that's what matters in all branches.

the in-game story web thing has her pronouns as "her" confirming her female identity. Can check for yourself.
that really doesnt mean anything because a lot of the times translators cant be trusted(look at seven seas books, 13 sentinels, twewy neo, and xseed games as well as other devs), and the japanese page bio says he. so were waiting on daisuke to confirm edit: forgot to mention that apparently the japanese fans havent used the words she at all to refer to bridget concerning the new story so likely the actual text is different to the translation

There was a manga(not sure if you named it) where some western translator tried to make a crossdressing boy a trans recently. Based author forced a takedown and recall to have it translated properly. They really can't be trusted with ♥♥♥♥, always trying to push their views into things that are literally already written for them; can't even do that.

Remember when people like you tried pulling this card with Testament and then the Japanese Arcsys had to be like "yes they are non binary"

I sure do.

Huh?!
I thought testament was always referred to like that??

Uh? Testament never had a gender since forever so that's completely different since that fact never changed, what are you even on about? Don't be stupid.
Looks like a girl, is voiced by a woman who makes her sound like a girl. Is a girl.

Any other label would be just Arcsys trying to have their cake (wide appeal of a cute girl) and eat it (trans and so on representation), too.

"I will not change no matter what." Is said by KY not Bridget she was asking him advice on going public. it takes a min to watch the video and see this for yourself. or better play the game and see the ending.

No, Ky said "No matter what others think I will not change, even if my entire body turns to gear" and She said ".. No matter what others think, huh?" implying that Bridget has not ever considered what she wanted for herself. and then says they want to "Live as their true self even though its scary" and Ky invites her over as a found family kind of connection.

The two endings aren't that much different at all, either way Bridget finds out how to do things for themselves, to be free of the shackles of their town and make their own choice. The answer doesn't matter as it's a game about freedom.

But if you NEED to know, in English and JP the character is coded for female introductions, and is listed as female in the glossary on the ENG game since JP doesn't do the same pronoun usage.
I was quoting the OP to correct them that misinformation is being spread about the flawless run that it somehow makes bridget not trans anymore. its really fustrating seeing people intentually missrepresent things about her. Seeing her come out as a girl is what got me to buy this game. it got me to play the others too. I just want to play my happy girl and try to win.
i know everything about the lore of guilty gear i am not convinced
Damn this is confusing
I'm gonna go back to ignoring this game

I'm sorry but that reveal literally happened yesterday, so there's no way in hell you've played any of the older games. It's weird how you people can't see how this hurts your own movement, you tried so long to destroy gender norms only to shove them back onto people when they dont follow said norms, egg culture is gross
you can check my account it does take that long to play though arcade mode. besides that you don't get to decide what helps or hurts "my movement' If i like bridget because she decided to be a girl now then thats good enough for me. she cute shes fun to play and shes a girl that simple.
This is what happens when you try to be artsy and leave everything open to interpretation. All they have to do is say "Bridget is a (x)" and this will all go away.

They won't do that though, so Bridget's legacy will forever be a bunch of unhinged goblins unironically screaming cope and seethe at each other because there's no proof for either argument.

I was really excited about the character at first, too. It's a shame it had to be this way.
im getting a headache
with the amount of unnecesary arguments people are having over this i think they will release an official statement
it shouldnt have to be this way
Can Bridget just be Bridget?
