No, I mean does it have it future as fighting game, I don't mean it if it's too hard or too easy, just wanted to know what veteran players think if is it worth the time to sink your teeth in into game or pick up other game.
Well it's the number 1 game at EVO, it has the best netcode of any fighting game I've played by far, and personally I think it has the best characters and visuals. My main fighting game for the forseeable future.
This game has the 3rd biggest player base on Steam, only SFV and Tekken have bigger, IDK how, the netcode is pretty bad for those games.
Season 2 is coming soon this summer, new characters, maybe changes to system mechanics. I'm having a blast and it's only going to get more fun

Yes and no. Strive is accessible, although a couple of inputs (most overdrives and dragon punches) require patience to practice. Still easier than most fighting games, although if you only want an easy fighting game I suggest:

a- Fantasy Strike. Only directional inputs make it the most accessible fighting game. The only problem is that it is a little old, so being a newbie you'll face sometimes hard veterans (no idea if usually or only sometimes). It has a free version with Training Mode, vs AI, and... online matches!

b- Dragon Ball Fighterz. Quarter circle inputs, and easier to find similar opponents (although perhaps Strive is better here).

c- Dungeon Fighter Duel. Only directional inputs, great graphics, made by Strive developers. The only problem is that it will only available from next 28th June.

My advice:
- If you only want Strive because it's suposedly easy, play Fantasy Strike for free until Dungeon Fighter Duel arrives.
- If you want Strive because it's a cool game, get it. It's still quite accesible.

Fighting games you only need one other person, not like a MOBA where there's a million people playing and you have to sit in a queue for 10 minutes somehow
i see. i got my ass kicekd in first online match not gonna lie and it stoped me in my track :)) and was wondering if the player base only made from kill squads just to kill new players.

Fighting games these days are made up of mostly veteran players. Games like Dragon Ball Fighterz can attract new people to the FGC (fighting game community) because of the I.P, unlike Guilty Gear. I could not imagine playing this game on a controller to any true enjoyable extent. You're going to get stomped for about a year depending on how much you practice before you make it to celestial if that's your goal.

As a future, this game has a strong one. The netcode is extremely well done. Extremely. This is the biggest crux of online fighting games is the netcode. If Dragon Ball Fighterz had this netcode I guarantee it there would be 3x as many people playing DBFZ now as there are.

So to answer your question simply: It's a long established and popular anime fighting game franchise that has the best online netcode to date for the genre. It's going to have a future for at least another two solid years before it drops off. Unless DBFZ 2 gets released with the same netcode before then.

That is where the trouble starts, though. As a new player, you're going to be stuck there.

North American EVO champ Hotashi uses a pad. Though, I'm pretty sure he has a split d-pad mod for his controller. The default DS5 d-pad is one solid piece and causes some input issues.

At this point, you can pretty much just play on whatever you already have experience on, with two small exceptions. I wouldn't recommend an analog stick. Not because it's bad; I used one for almost 300 hours in this game, but because they wear out easily nowadays I've gone through two since the game launched (Xbox & Switch pads). Membrane keyboards can run into some key rollover issues, which would mostly be a problem if you're trying to play Zato but it's frustrating in general whenever it occurs and an input gets ghosted.

Everything else should be fine.

An off-topic question.

As fais as I know, the most popular fighting games are Strive, Tekken, SF, and DBFZ. But I've also heard that Mortal Kombat 11 is the most sold. Does its typical players buy it but play not much? Is it a not so sold game?

and when you start to get fun with the game? :) i hear only when you reach this milestone you need to reach that milestone then you gonna be there... :)

mortal kombat 11 install is over 100 GB, i thought its gonna be beast of the game but only with 2k players online, street fighter 5 has 2k players too as off Guilty Gear.

The fighting games I played the most is the tekken games, and guilty gear is MUCH more accessible and im really enjoying it, definitely gonna play it for a while still. you have combo practice and stuff as well. I have 60~ hours in it and I'm already really having fun. The characters are fun and diverse, they really feel different to play (also to play against). And the online lobbies are populated. Also the netcode is the best. But to enjoy any fighting game, you will have to practice stuff in practice mode to get better at your execution etc. But its so satisfying to land something in an online match that you've been practicing a lot in training mode. It's good to stick to 1 character first and learning them properly.

Highjacking a little bit since it's in a similar vein to the thread:

I bought the game a few hours earlier, played for around an hour and a half, had a BLAST listening to the music (jesus christ how can it be so good) and fighting (went through arcade mode twice)

I ultimately refunded tho because this is a very steep price, and I don't know how to feel about the smaller roster (am used to MK9-10-11's).

Do you guys know if the game is on sale often? Or if DNF Duel will be free / cheaper when it comes out?

I'll probably be getting one of those two later on!

Since it came out about a year ago, it's been on sale five times. 20% off August, 35% November, 35% December, 35% -again- in the same December, and then 40% off in January this year. If it keeps following that pattern, it'll probably be on sale for 40% off sometime in the next few months, maybe when Season 2 releases. Here's my source for the data: https://steamdb.info/app/1384160/
The season pass has never gone on sale so far.

As for DNF Duel, we don't have any confirmed price for it but it comes out late June. You could wait until then, try it for two hours, and see if you like it more or less than Strive.

DNF's roster isn't looking any bigger than Strive's, but I would keep in mind that MK11 isn't a new game. It's had support and DLC for three years. It'll probably still have more characters than the final version of Strive, but it's worth noting that it didn't start with all of those. Strive had 15 at launch and it's up to 20 at the moment.

Newer games will always seem like they have a barer roster for that reason.
